Daffodil Bowl
Feb. 18th, 2017

Total Paid Out: $7,292.00

Wrap Up
As was mentioned earlier in the week, Daffodil Bowl always poses a huge threat to the 9-Tap Jackpot and after it was hit just last week byLisaSeifert, we were thinking it could happen again this week...Well, that scenario didn't come to fruition as we wound up with a FIVE-way tie for the consolation between Bob Rouse, Brad Dubeck, Donna Columbo, Oscar Gestoso &Pearl Sedeno, each earning $25.00 for hitting the front three. Also, Brian Selck hit the 'Middle 7' 9-Taps but with the Jackpot on the lower side after being hit, all we can do is pat him on the back this time.  We did pay out the cash to Lisa Seifert from last week prior to the 2nd squad.  Congratulations, Lisa!!!

With another nice turnout of 114, 23 bowlers made a highly diverse and competitive Cash List with the 'Cut-Line' at 742.  There were five bowlers who broke 800 with Ron Barker (802) and Michael Anderson(804) finishing just outside the Top 3.  Nice shooting, gentlemen!  Mike Osthus earned $467.00 for his 3rd Place finish by firing an impressive808 set while Chuck Gonsalez made the trip from Yakima and left after the 2nd squad where he shot an awesome 832 set!  We had the feeling that when Chuck and his family left, he was likely going to win, but in stepped Tom Melberg!  Great shooting, Chuck and we hope the $910.00pay day softens the blow a little bit.

Mr. Melberg bowled in the first squad and after shooting a not so impressive 680 series, went home and was thinking about returning tobowl the last squad.  Well, Tom did return and said that he watched this week's 7th Place winner, Krisha Naffbowl during the latter part of the 2nd squad and picked up on the shot that she was playing, saying "I figured I'd give her line a shot."  Great strategy for Tom as he blasted the pocket time and time again, firing the day's best 852 for a HUGE $2,025.00 check!  Tom finished like a Champ with a 277 (303) game, also hitting six of the front seven 9-Taps (almost an even bigger pay day).  It wasn't long ago when he had not one, but TWO close calls late last Summer, finishing in 2nd Place twice in three weekstretch. This was Melberg's 2nd Career Title!  Tom's wife is his #1 fan and was cheering him on from home as she said "Just go have fun, Dear."  Tom said that he felt calm and slowed it down letting his arm do the work as he used his Storm 'Rocket Ship' ball drilled by Matt Surina.  Tom also said that he will use the money to pay off some bills.  Well done, Tom!

We now head to Federal Way and Secoma Lanes next Saturday where the Progressive Pot will be a nice $1,939.00.  Hope to see everyone there!
