Wrap Up

Schofield Bowling Center

On May 19, we celebrated our 9th Anniversary Celebration of the 9 Tap Tour HI Region at Ft. Shafter Lanes, sponsored by Hawaii Bowling Supply.  We gave away bowling balls,  ball cleaners/polish, grip sacks, ball cups and thumb/finger tape donated by HBS (Hawaii Bowling Supply) Mike Asuncion.  The 9 Tap Tour also injected a fun prize to the bowlers  who placed under the"Red Line" and the "Anchor" award to the member who finished "last at the end of tournament play".

This past weekend, June 2nd, we were back at Schofield Bowling Center where scores are usually low but close.  Our scores held true as the were bunched together making for a little higher than normal cutline.  It was also the day where the range of handicapping went from -3 to 50;  the scores were moderate but again bunched together;  21 pins separated 1st , 2nd and 3rd places;  scoring yielded 3 (three) 1000 scores shot;  953 was low to cash;  and the tour sports another first time Champion, “We simply had a great tournament and fun time”.

If Only . . . .

The pattern seemed to be real tough but some of our members made it look easy.  There were 6 members in the mix.  Our 9 Tap Tour Regional ChampionStephen Cyd was on his way to another Championship shirt but moved lanes and fell off with a 192 score and couldn't right the ship and finished in 6th Place.  K- Bay Champion Kathrine Marksstarted off the tournament  slowly however changed lanes and with a huge score of 266 (w/caps 312) put herself into contention  but fell just short and had to settle for 5th place.  Michael Ludwig reentered and nearly pulled it off going 788 for three games and 192 + 50= 242 would have given him a championship shirt however he went flat, shot 156+50= 206 and finished in 4th place.  John Hata, 1st squad leader placed third finishing with a 1008 score.  Brandon Benicta placed second with some steady bowling, shooting a total score of 1016.  Brandon entered the third squad but could not put things together to increase his score and had to settle with his previous score.  That put Christalynn in the drivers seat as she 271 - 261 - 248 - 244 and wrestled the lead away from Brandon, shooting a great 4 game series of 1029 and the Schofield Championship.

Christalynn used Roto Grip Hyper Cell Skid, drilled by Roy Yamanuha of Game On Pro Shop at Ft. Shafter for her 1st Title.  Congratulations, Christalynn!

Progressive and 9 Tap Jackpots

Our Progressive and 9 Tap Jackpots are at a sizeable payout for the next winner, as the Tour heads to Ft. Shafter Lanes.  The Progressive Pot stands at$1,165.00 and our 9 Tap Jackpot is at $4,236.00.  Winners of the no tap for Schofield's tournament went to Claudia Ferrari and Nicolas McDuffie with 3 no taps.  They both shared $50.00 of bonus 9 Tap Jackpot monies.  See all of you at Ft. Shafter!!

Lastly, We Bid "Aloha and Farewell" to Mike Dudley.  A staunch supporter of the 9 Tap Tour who is heading east to the State of Texas.  Safe Travels, Mike and Ohana.
