Ft. Shafter

June 16th, 2018

Total Paid Out: $5,943.00

Wrap Up

First Time Champion. . . .

Another Stellar tournament at Ft. Shafter as we recorded and continued our 100% of "New Champions" there at Shafter.  We had a great turnout at Ft. Shafter for a "Beat the Board"  format w/87 entries, 17 cashers with low to cash at 900; handicaps went from -1 to 63; paid out $5,943.00 w/1st Place worth $1,440.00 and a New Champion.  That makes it 5 for 5 Newbie's at Ft. Shafter.

Audrey Sue joined the 9 Tap Tour in April of 2017 and in 14months has won her first title.  Since joining, Audrey has been a staunch supporter of the 9 Tap Tour and has bowled as often as she could.  Audrey felt that she didn't bowl as "awesome" as her score indicated, a 963, however that score led the first squad.  Vergilio Repollo was a close second, shooting a nice962 and Tonja Jenkins shot a very respectable score of 961 and a close third.   The second and third squads produced some exciting moments as there were several high games, James Saballa (300 nt), Brandon Benicta (278) and Ian Benson (276), along with other high scores.  Marcus Jackson got close after starting with a very low score, then came storming back with some very good scores only to leave him 13 pins short, a 950.  Defending Ft. Shafter Champion Ryan Kumai could not get started in game one, shot great games in games 2 & 3 but again fell in game 4 and 21 pins short.  K-Bay Champion Richard Nagamatsualso came up 25 pins short shooting a nice 938.

Audrey wins her first title and $1,440.00.  Audrey's family car broke down and had to buy a new car.  She plans to use part of her winnings to pay for it.  "Oh!  got to win several more tournaments, Audrey".  Audrey used a Storm Ball drilled by Virgil Dela Cruz of Exxxtreme 300 Pro Shop.  She says, "Thanks to 9 Tap for putting on these tournaments and to my fellow bowling team mates for cheering me on."  Congratulations, Audrey on your first title!!!

Progressive and 9 Tap Jackpots

The 9 Tap Jackpot stands at $4,426.00 and the Progressive Pot increased to$1,374.00.  Besides shooting a 9 Tap 300, James Saballa pocketed another $100 for getting 4 no taps.  Tell your friends and family about your tour, it will be “Fun and Exciting” this year.
