Hickam gives the tour “jitters” because it’s a mystery of not knowing who will show for the tournament.  Entering Hickam Base will and has always been a deterrent to some of our bowlers because of base security but as it turns out, we had 68 entries, paid 14 places with a total payout of $10,107.00; paid 7 no taps, $4,937.00 and had a cash list that paid the low of 872.  Big Mahalo to Mel Matsumura and his staff for their support which allowed us to start our tournament a little late because of an influx of new members joining the Tour.  Awesome Tournament!! 

The Old Guy 

“Old” Ben Ballesteros, retired HPD Officer (still Old), wins title number 7.  It was a long drought for Ben, like 3 years, but he's back in the "Why . . ners Circle".  After a mediocre third game, Ben thought that the only way to be on the cash list was to post a good score and maybe he would place somewhere in the top 5 on the cash list.  Ben bowls a perfect no tap score of 300 and ends up with the 1st squad lead and a posted score of 1011.  Mike Naehu was a close second with a score 1006.  Throughout the day, 2nd and 3rd squads, no one came close to beating Ben's score and for just having fun, Ben wins his 7th Championship and takes home $1,423.00.  Great Finish!! 

9 Tap Jackpot gets Hit!! 

Overcoming security issues at Hickam's gate and with the help of 9 Tap tour Member Rashidi Domville, Keanu Deboma and Ericka Ebia got to the lanes later than expected and had to bowl right away.  No 10 minute practice for them but surely no one was expecting what was about to happen next.  Keanu stayed calm, focused and started with a no tap on the first frame and continued to string a total of 8 no taps.  He now has the distinction of being the second member of the 9 Tap Tour HI, to string 7 no taps and hit the 9 Tap Jackpot "BIG" to a tune of $4,937.00.  For it was just 2 years ago at Hickam on July 11, 2015, that Ben Ballesteros rolled 7 no taps to be the first to break the  9 Tap Jackpot worth $4,938.00.  Congratulations Keanu!

Our 9 Tap Jackpot has decreased to $1,435.00 and the Progre$$ive Pot  also decreased as well to $1,208.00.   Keanu Deboma was the "BIG, BIG WINNER", by stringing 7 no taps in a row from the 1st frame. 

TEAM EVENT - AUGUST 12, 2017 

Our new event for 2017, the Team Event will feature a different format that should be fun and interesting.  We have 20 teams signed up, so don't miss out get your team signed up.  There is only "ONE SQUAD" on the August 12th date of the TEAM  EVENT, STARTING AT 12:00 NOON.  So, come EARLY!!!
