Our Newest Champion . . . 

Another successful 9 Tap tournament concluded at Schofield Bowling Center this past weekend where we crowned a new Champion.  The scoring was just a little on the high level, where it took a 953 score to cash. We saw a few BIG games Saturday, but those few bowlers were not able to string those big games together. 

"Practice makes perfect".  Rolena Furtak did not plan on bowling the Schofield 9 Tap Tour tournament this weekend but was pushed into bowling by her friends at Exxxtreme 300 Pro Shop.   Rolena joined the 9 Tap Tour HI in November of 2015 and had her goal set at winning a title and a champion shirt.  She has been practicing a lot with BFF Ace Estiamba and it paid off.  Her best finish on tour was at 11th place. 

Wes Flores, Hawaii's Rep for 900 Global & AMF, set the tone early as he posted a fine 994 score,  Following closely was Naomi Rose at 965.  Leading the second squad was Rolena Furtak with her big game of 1068, followed closely by Randy Kaea-Cook at 1014.  The final squad was headed by Cheryl Kato, firing a nice 1036, just 32 pins short of Rolena.  Cheryl posted two great games but the move after her two games was a little unsteady and so nervous that it just "weighed heavy" on her final game.  Rolena collected $1059.00 for her win and was so excited, she was walking the lanes to see the closest scores.   Asked what she was going to do with her winnings, her answer “Ginger House”.  Whoa girl, are you talking "Ginger Bread House"?  You have either a "Big Appetite or a Big Dog".  Rolena used a Storm Alpha Crux drilled by Virgil Dela Cruz of Exxxtreme 300 Pro Shop.  Congratulations!  Rolena Furtak!!
