Ft. Shafter Bowl - December 3rd, 2016

Total Paid Out: $5,874.00

Wrap Up

4th Quarter Championship at Ft. Shafter Lanes

The 4th Quarter tournament at Ft. Shafter Lanes did not disappoint us as scoring was great!  We had 76 entries, 15 cashers; a low 912 to cash; and a two time Champion.

Naomi Rose started the 4th Quarter tournament with a nice score of 977.  She had bowled in the first squad and was extremely happy because she was the leader.  But then scores got higher in the second squad as Brian Ash put together consistent scores to wrestle the lead away from Naomi with a nice score of 1009 followed by Ace Estiamba with a score of 1000 and Vergilio Repollo with a nice 989 score.  Erran Joseph was disappointed with his bowling after posting a 975 in the 1st squad, 2 pins from 1st, and further depressed after re-entering the 2nd squad to post a low 862 score.  But then, re-entered the third squad under tough conditions, put together good scores and unleashed with a final game of 276; 1059 total;  the 4th Quarter Championship;  and his 2nd title .  Erran used a Storm Phaze International bowling ball drilled at Schofield Bowling Pro Shop by Jim Pirtle.  Asked what he planned to do with his winnings, he said "give the rest to my wife for allowing me to spend my free time bowling while she takes care of home".  Smart man!  Erran thanks the "entire 9 Tap Hawaii Staff for running such a great event time and time again, that it makes everyone feel like a Big Bowling Family".  He also thanks his bowling partners Randy, Emory, Ricky and Vergiliofor their support in the last squad.  Congratulations, Erran!

Progressive & 9 Tap Jackpot!

Our 9 Tap Jackpot has increased to $4,735.00 and the Progressive Pot to $1,251.00.  The pots are still large and waiting for one of our members to take home the “Bigger Bucks”.  At the Ft. Shafter Tournament,  the 9 tap jackpot was shared by three members, Darlee Horiuchi, Randy Kaea-Cook and Hy Fragas with 3 No Taps. Our next stop will be at Schofield Bowling Center, December 17, 2016 for the YEC (Year End Championship).   There will be ONLY one (1) squadstarting at 12:00 pm.  Both Pots will not be in play during the YEC (Year End Championship) tournament.

The BOY (Bowler of the Year) ended with four of our members within ear shot of winning this year's championship.  Erran needed the top three bowlers to have a bad day.  As Erran picked up some very valuable points on his win.  Randy Kaea-Cook was the leader by one point over Ace Estiamba and 3 points over Mike Naehu.  As it turned  out, Erran posted 21pts. for his win and would have been 5 pts. short.  Randy and Mike could do no better than 22nd place and finished 2nd and 3rd respectively.  Ace shot a great total score to place 3rd in the tournament, picked 14 pts. and claimed the "Bowler of the Year" Title.  Congratulations!  Ace.

* YEC (Year End Championship:  Alongside the tournament, will be a "Ball Demo" sponsored by 900 Global & AMF.  The Demo starts at 10:00am and it is "FREE" to all bowlers.  Come out and try some of the new equipment from 900 Global and AMF.
