Schofield Bowling Center . . . 

“Lucky?” this is the comment from our newest 9 Tap Tour Champion.  Mike Asuncion, a respected, personable and well known member of Hawaii’s bowling community, was asked by friend and tour member Don Furuya to join him at the 2:30 pm squad.  But family is Mikey’s’ number 1 priority and he was at “Hawaii Water Park” with wife Christine and son Roddy, so we really did not expect him to show up for bowling.  Well, he showed up at Schofield Bowling Center for the 5:00 pm squad and the rest is history. 

Daniel Toyooka-Lim is a 9 Tap Tour 4-time Champion and was looking tojoin tour member Ben Ballesteros in earning his “Black Shirt”.  Back up to the 1st squad, as our leader was none other than Ben Ballesteros scoring a 994 but in the 2nd squad, Daniel took the lead with a huge series of 1025 and looked like an unbeatable score as the oil pattern started to give bowlers fits.  But “Lucky” (Mike Asuncion) signs up for the 5:00 pm 3rd squad.  Mike then proceeds to shoot a great score of 1059, his best to date, and deny Daniel his 5th title and a “Black Shirt”.  Harry Adamsshot a score of 1004 for third place and won him some extra $$$ dollars.  Mike used a Radical Guru Mighty drilled by Jody Yamamoto of Hawaii Bowling Supply.  He also thanks the 9 Tap Tour Staff for giving bowlers an opportunity to bowl every month and to “just have Fun”.  Congrats Mike for a well deserved, well earned “Blue Championship Shirt”. 

Our Progre$$ive Pot has increased to $1,348.00 and 9 Tap Jackpot to$7,417.00.  March 28, 2015 is our next tournament date at K-Bay Lanes.  Be there to give yourself a chance at winning $$ money.  Our “Quarterly Tournament” is sponsored by Hawaii Bowling Supply and of course the champion will receive a bowling ball.  The Tour will also offer other specials at K-Bay, so be there.  Current Members should be abiding by the Dress Code Rule.  If you don’t have a tour shirt, You will be“FINED” in order to participate in this weeks tournament.
