Second time winner 

The Pali Tournament did not disappoint us as scoring was high.  We had 64 entries, 13 cashers and a 2nd time Champion; scores in our “Beat the Board” format was exciting all day.  High scoring was the order of the day but the first squad started slow with the leading scorer Kevin Asato at 973.  Then along came“Big Bad Don Furuya”, who has cashed in several tournaments but not won since September 2012.  Wait, Don had called Frances to reserve lanes for him and Mike Asuncion.  Even after the call he had second thoughts about coming but since Mike and Sid Remigio were joining him, he decided to bowl.  Wow!  The choices we make!  Don shoots an 1104 to take the second squad lead and although there were high scores in the 3rd squad, no one was able to beat his posted score.  In 2nd place was Virgil Dela Cruz of Exxxtreme 300, with a score of 1088 and 3rd place, Ben Ballesteros’ score of 1068.  Congratulations Don!  Don would like to thank Strike’em Pro Shop for drilling his ball, Sid and Mike for accompanying him to the 9 Tap Tournament, Thomas Ching for the coaching and the Dias Ohana for putting up with him in Las Vegas.  “Ron can charge you room and board now, Donald”.  

Our 9 Tap Jackpot increased to $6, 981.00 and the Progressive Pot to $1,103.00.  The pots are still large and waiting for one of our members to take home the “Big Bucks”.  There was a 5 way tie in the 9 Tap Jackpot with all 5 having 3 No Taps and splitting the bonus bucks.  Our next stop will be at Ft. Shafter on Feb 21, 2014 with no change in squad times, 12:00 pm; 2:30 pm; and 5:00 pm.
