Ft. Shafter Lanes . . . 

Ft. Shafter lanes seems to be where most of our members migrate.  Is it because everyone has a better chance of "Winning"?  It just might be the reason why we consistently draw good numbers. 

Yes, the past weekend crowned “Co-Stars,” David Gilman and Daniel Toyooka-Lim as Tournament  Champions at Ft. Shafter Lanes.  Daniel was smokin' as he finished the 1st squad with the outright lead firing a 1082,  he reentered the 2nd squad just to bowl and capped that off with a 1051.  One would think that the lanes were pretty easy as Daniel shot and scored back to back 1000's.  Actually, there were just two other scores over a thousand (1000), David Gilman and Ron Loo (1034) and low to cash was a 914 score.    Daniel says, "I was just lucky".  Congratulations, Daniel on winning your 5th Title and earning  your Black Retro bowling shirt.  After this one, there will be no more shirts for Daniel, only "STARS".  Oh, Yeah!!!  

David Gilman called the Staff of 9 Tap Tour HI requesting we sign him up for the last squad as he was making his way to Ft. Shafter from work.  As it turned out, David had a couple of minutes to spare before shadow was to start.   Knowing what he was up against, David quotes, "always reward yourself by being positive and have fun".  A Great attitude got "Rewarded" in winning his second title.  David thanks all his friends bowling on the 9 Tap Tour Hawaii and the 9 Tap Tour for putting on the tournament.  He used a Storm Zero Gravity and Byte drilled by Roy Yamanuha at the Ft. Shafter Pro Shop.   Congratulations Kawika! 

Progressive and 9 Tap Jackpots . . . 

Member Dennis Ikaika supplied some excitement for the day as he put together  6 no taps in a row only to throw a natural strike in the 7th frame.  Dennis was our No Tap bonus winner and took home $200.  The Progre$$ive Pot will be a nice $1,080.00 and the 9 Tap Jackpot is up to $2,425.00. 

BOY Champion; Year End Championship . . . 

Daniel Toyooka-Lim continues his "Hot Streak" in keeping and extending his lead in the "Bowler of the Year."  On his heels are Exxxtreme 300 Pro Shop owner and sponsor, Virgil Dela Cruz, Ben Ballesteros, Ron Loo and Emory Carrick.   

The Year End Championships are just around the corner and the way to be "Active" is to have bowled in "One (1) tournament in the last 6 months".  If you are an active past champion you will get an "Automatic Invitation".  Not active, bowl once and go all in.  For non-champions, you will be invited by using the Bowler of the Year List starting from the highest points accumulated throughout the year.  Don't miss out on the opportunity; 1st place is $2,000.00.  Just a reminder, members that are bowling in Hawaii's 3rd Annual Year End Championship, please get your shirts with the “9 Tap” logo and name embroidered.  Take a new or old shirt to Tour Sponsor Verna Rapez of “The Embroidery Gift Shop”, located at Stadium Mall and have her embroider your shirt.
