Play by Play . . . 

Our 9 Tap tournament returned to Ft. Shafter Lanes for the tour favorite format “Best 3 out of 4” and again provided our members with lots of excitement and close scoring.   Ft. Shafter produced another 1st time Champion in Don Salamero, earning him $1,167.00 and a Tour Shirt.  It didn't come easy for Don though because there were many members still in the mix.  After the second squad Don led with a 799 and a narrow 3 pin lead over Emory Carrick and a 5 pin lead over Brian Pineda.  All three bowlers reentered the third squad and were bowling together.  Don, Emory and Brian, were putting on a scoring spree along with David Gilman, bowling alongside the leaders.  In the first game, all four bowlers fired high games with Don leading the pack shooting a score with handicap of 296, followed by Brian (286),Emory (283) and David (277).  The second game was nearly the same as Don continued to put the pressure on with a 282, followed by David (259), Emory (247) and Brian (232).  The third game resulted with Don inching away from the pack as he posted a 273 closely followed by Emory (266), Brian (266) and David (255).  Exhaustion settled in as Emory, Brian and David could not put together a strong finish to catch Don.  After quite a number of top finishes, Don's perseverance paid off and won his first title.  Don says, "I am so excited about winning my first title and exhausted after bowling 8 games in a row".  He also thanks the 9 Tap Tour Staff for putting on the tournament and making it "fun all around".

Progressive and 9 Tap Jackpot . . . 

Our pots have increased and will make the  K-Bay tournament "Enticing".  The 9 Tap Jackpot has increased to $1,895.00 and the Progressive Pot to $1,110.00.  So, come out and join us at our next tournament.

The 9 Tap Tour will be holding the next tournament at K-Bay Lanes, August 22, 2015 and for those members coming to join us, PLEASE give yourselves some extra time to get through the main gate as their new policy is "for every vehicle to have a pass if you are a DOD Civilian Employee or other card holder allowing you Access on to K-Bay". Actually, it is pretty painless as Frances and I tested the system.  You will need an updated copy of your Car Registration, Insurance and Safety Check.  For those of you who carry the "Friends of K-Bay Passes", we were assured that you did not have to get vehicle passes but you never know, so come early anyway and bring your car information.  Just to be safe.  For others that need a sponsor on to K-Bay, Manager Elden Doi will be at the gate or when you enter, give us a call and Elden will go to the gate to sponsor you in for the day.  If you have any questions, please feel free to give me or Frances a call at 808 779-6566.  Hope to See You There!!!
