Total Paid Out: $7,913.00

Wrap Up

Year End Championship 2014

Schofield Highlights

What a Fantastic final 9 Tap Year End Championship Tournament we had the past weekend at Schofield Bowling Center. Hawaii's 2nd Annual YEC was a "Huge Success", inspite of having 76 entries, the Tour was still able to pay the 1 in 4 prize money.  The tour paid out $7,913.00 with 1st Place worth $2,020.00; 2nd place wasn't too shabby at all as we paid out $1,000.00 and 3rd place received $500.00.

Sidney Remigio wins YEC

The Tour crowned a former champion and 2 time winner, Sid Remigio as the Second Year End Champion.  Sid has been in a little slump since winning his first title back in January 2012.  During this tournament, he was the top qualifier in the YEC (Year End Championship) format.  His scoring round went like this; round 1: series of 800; round 2: 198+H+B=213; round 3: 231+H+B=246; final round 4: 234+H+B=249 and the Year End Championship worth $2,020.00.  In 2nd place was Dennis Matthews and he cashed in a nice $1,000.00; 3rd place went to Craig Brinkworth $500.00.  Topping off the Top 6 were: 4th placeBrennan Doane; 5th place Alfredo Melchor; and in 6th place Stacey Shigekane.  Sidney used a Storm Hy-Road Solid, which he drilled himself.  He thanks the 9 Tap Tour Staff for putting on these tournaments as well as Carla Aquino.  Congratulations Sidney on your 2nd and YEC Title.

Our Final tournament of the year was a major success and thanks to our members for their unending support.  In appreciation for that constant support, Hawaii Region and its sponsors celebrated the final tournament with giving away balls and Goodies.  Winners of Bowling Balls were:   John Lavery; Peter Sarte; and Chris Takahashi.

HBS  Bowler Of The Year (BOY)

The competition for Hawaii Bowling Supply (HBS) Bowler of the Year (BOY) was led by Daniel Toyooka-Lim from the early part of the year but by mid-year, Ben Ballesteros and Emory Carrick made it a close race.  By the end of the season, Ben and Emory were "tied for the lead and Daniel close behind".  At the Tours last tournament, K-Bay, Ben outdueled Emory and Daniel to win his 2nd BOY Ttite and receive a Bowling Ball.  Thanks to Hawaii Bowling Supply (HBS) for their great support and sponsorship of our Tour and Bowler of the Year.

The 9 Tap Tours' Progressive Pot will be large for our next Tournament, January 10, 2015.  The Progressive Pot stands at $1,278.00 and the 9 Tap Jackpot at $6,762.00. To our members, a short reminder to get your shirts embroidered, collared or mock, with the 9 Tap Tour logo and name from The Embroidery Gift Shop, owner Verna Rapez, located at Stadium Mall.
