Schofield Bowl - August 9th, 2014

Total Paid Out: $6,417.00

Wrap Up

As Hurricane Iselle bore down on our Islands, we, the Staff of 9 Tap Tour Hawaii, had asked that all its members keep safe and indoors until Iselle had passed.  We were prepared for what laid ahead.  The Bowling Center closed its doors early Thursday and all day Friday, to prepare for Hurricane Iselle; but, decided to reopen its doors for business at 0900 Saturday, which meant that the 9 Tap Tour tournament would go on as scheduled.

A short Blow by Blow:

August 6, 2014:  Hurricane Iselle is 150 miles east of the Hawaiian Islands and inching closer.  August 7, 2014:  Iselle is expected to make landfall on the Big Island by night.  August 8, 2014:  The Twin Peaks (Mauna Loa/Mauna Kea) breaks up Iselles' hurricane force winds to a strong Tropical Storm.

August 9 2014:  Tropical Depression Koch hits Central Oahu at Schofield and flattens her opponents.  Tropical Who???  Ah huh, yes, the 9 Tap Tour went off as scheduled at Schofield Bowling Center and at the5:00 pm squad, Hurricane Koch (Kathy Koch) made her presence felt, like hurricane force winds, bowled lights out shooting 1088, leaving Jason Fujimoto (1020) and William Rich (1011), powerless and beating them into submission.  I called it a "Depression" because she left those members feeling "Depressed".  The 9 Tap Tour tournament weathered another storm with some spectacular display from mother Koch.  Congratulations Kathy on your 1st win.  Oh, yea, the ball she used to win her first title was a Columbia 300, Pearlized Blur, drilled by Virgil Dela Cruz of Exxxtreme 300.

Bradley Witkowiak put together 4 No Taps and took home the consolation bonus of $150.

Our pots are high for the next tournament.  The Progressive Pot stands at $1,451.00 and the 9 Tap Jackpot is at $6,805.00.  See you at Fort Shafter.
