K-Bay Lanes - December 6th, 2014

Total Paid Out: $5,243.00

Wrap Up

K-Bay Lanes . . .

As scores of winners at all our tournaments have indicated how the handicapping has leveled the playing field, the 9 Tap Tour is proud of its showcasing all year.  The winners/cashers' handicaps have ranged from -8 to 68.  Our Champions have ranged from -8 to 68.  The average tournament winners’ handicap is 27.  It is awesome because the 9 Tap Tour is designed to ensure fair play.  Our goal is to provide an enjoyable experience for all of our members, with a fair opportunity for low, medium and high average bowlers.  The 9 Tap Tour Hawaii Region has accomplished that.

The season ending tournament did not lack excitement as our Champion is well liked on the 9 Tap Tour.  Bob Kailewa was not on the radar as Ben Dela Cruz and Ron Loowere battling each other heading into the last game of the 3rd and last squad.  Ben (813)had a one pin advantage over Ron (812) going into game 4.  Ron (1029) outlasted Ben (1025) 217 to 212 for an apparent 4 pin victory.  But wait a whole minute, Bob Kailewa’s recap sheet gets scored, inputted into the computer and “Wholly s*!”/?, Bob scores, a come from behind victory, slipping under the radar, winning his 2nd title by a mere 7 pins”.  Bob used a Brunswick Nexxus for his slim victory.  He thanks Ron Loo and Ben Dela Cruz for allowing him to win; Virgil Dela Cruz of Exxxtreme 300 for drilling his ball; and everybody else for their support.  Congratulations, Bob!

BOY Champion Crowned; Year End Championship

In a Very Close Race, Ben Ballesteros edged out Emory Carrick and Daniel Toyooka-Lim to win the "Bowler of the Year".  Just a reminder, Members,

Our 2nd Annual “Year End Championship”, will be held December 20, 2014 at Schofield Bowling Center.  It is an Invitational Tournament and E-mail has been sent out to those members who have qualified to participate.  Please let me know whether you are bowling so I can give your slot to another member who qualifies. ~ Shirts with the “9 Tap” logo and  name embroidered are expected for this tournament.  You can purchase one from Tour Sponsor Verna Rapez of “The Embroidery Gift Shop”, located at Stadium Mall or take your favorite collared shirt and have her embroider it.
