K-Bay Lanes 

This past week it was Best 3 out of 4 at Hickam, in the coming week we will venture to Kaneohe Marine Corps Base Hawaii (KMCBH) for a back to back “Best 3 out of 4” tournament.  This season, 9 Tap added two venues – a new (K-bay) and old (Hickam).   It was painless getting intoHickam if you had your pass with you and we still have another tourney there at the end of the month.  If you signed up for Hickam, Frances may have your passes with her, give her a call and make arrangements to pick them up.  K-Bay’s passes were mailed to you from Kaneohe, so if you did not get it and plan to come, you need to call the bowling center for Manager Elden Doi for sponsorship. 

Aquino’s 1st Title 

Another 1st time champion has been crowned as Mark Aquino wins in a tight battle.  Several members had a chance to win as Mark set the score of 819 in the 2nd squad; Brian Guinn needed a scratch score of 248 + 14 = 262 in the 4th game of the 3rd squad to beat Mark by a pin but shot 246 + 14 = 260 and lost by a pin;  Kevin Asato needed to mark in the 10th frame of game 4 in the 2nd squad but a missed spare cost him his second title;  Daniel T. had his chance of winning title number 4 but changed pairs and could not get it going as he started (300 + 278 = 578 – 6 = 572) and fell 6 pins short.  New member LeVann Anthony had his chances of winning title #1 but fell 7 pins short.  Mark joins his wife Carla as title holders on the 9 Tap Tour.  Mark’s win netted him a paycheck of $1,349.00.  Congrats!  Mark used an Ebonite Challenge drilled by Virgil Dela Cruz of Exxxtreme 300 for his first win.  He thanks his wife (Carla), daughter (Aubriann) and son (Richard) for cheering him on and for their support.
