Schofield Highlights

What a Fantastic final 9 Tap Year End Championship Tournament we had the past weekend at Schofield Bowling Center. Hawaii's 1st Annual YEC was a "Huge Success", inspite of having 76 entries, the Tour was still able to pay the 1 in 4 prize money.  Some of our members felt the "Format and the Oil Pattern", was "Fair to all members that were Invited".  For the YEC, the tour paid out $7,000 with 1st Place worth $2,020.00; 2nd place wasn't to shabby at all as we paid out $1,000.00 and 3rd place received $500.00.  

Carla Aquino wins YEC 

The Tour crowned another 1st time winner in Carla Aquino.  Carla joined our tour back in September of 2012 and had been close several times until this past Saturday when she finally stepped into the winners circle.  In fact, her scoring in the YEC format went like this; round 1: series of 815; round 2:  231+H+B=273; round 3:  176+H+B=218; final round 4: 220+H+B=262 and the Year End Championship and $2,020.00.  In 2nd place was Sonya Baker and she cashed in a nice $1,000.00; 3rd place to Brennan Doane worth $500.00; Topping off the Top 6 were Tour Sponsor and Hawaii Bowling Supply's Mike Signaigo and 4th place.  In 5th place was Jason Fujimoto and 6th place Randy Kaea-Cook.  Carla used a DV8 Nightmare drilled by Nelson Weyl of Schofield Bowling  Pro Shop and had her IT installed by Exxxtreme 300, Virgil Dela Cruz.  She thanks the 9 Tap Tour Staff for putting on these tournaments as well as her husband Mark and daughter, Aubrianna.  Congratulations Carla on your 1st Title. 

 

Our Final tournament of the year was a major success and thanks to our members for supporting the 9 Tap Tour.  In appreciation for that constant support, Hawaii Region and its sponsors celebrated the final tournament with giving away balls and equipment.  Winners of Bowling Balls were:   Kathy Koch; Brandon Hee; Vergilio Repollo.  Winners of Single Totes:  Paul Sur; Billy Wolters; Dennis Matthews; Roger Benicta. 

900 Global Bowler Of The Year (BOY) 

The competition for Hawaii Bowling Supply (HBS) Bowler of the Year (BOY) was led by Daniel Toyooka-Lim from the early part of the year, March and never looked back.  Close by were Ben Ballesteros and Emory Carrick but both members could not make up the distance in points.  Daniel will receive his “Green” BOY, and a Bowling Ball, to go with his 2 Championship shirts.  Congratulations Daniel for a great year, 2 Titles and Bowler of the Year.  Thanks to Hawaii Bowling Supply (HBS) for their great support and sponsorship of our Tour and Bowler of the Year.
