Wrap Up

Schofield Bowling Center

The 9 Tap Tour Hawaii Region kicked off the 2013 season at Schofield Bowling Center this past weekend and as expected, shaped up into an exciting day of scoring with a very large payout.  TheProgressive Pot was at $1801.00 and our 9 Tap Jackpot at $7,406.00.    The Tour paid out$4,518.00 with first place worth $1,562.00, another large payout to the tour Champion.  The total pay out for Saturday’s tourney was again a large sum back to our Members.  Thanks to you, the Hawaii Region is off to another great start.  Receiving their Championship shirts were Vergilio Repollo (11-10-12), Jonathan Chaffin (12-01-12) and David Gilman (11-17-12).

Vergilio wins #2

This past weekends’ Champion was Vergilio Repollo.  First squad leader,Don Furuya, bowled a mere 927, as scoring was pretty much on the low side.  In the second squad, things got a little heated with the scoring getting a little intense after Daniel Toyooka-Lim took the scoring up a notch to 1011, taking sole possession of the lead.  Close on his heals were Ken Reynolds (987) and Rolly Mejia (975).  It seemed that Daniel was destined to win his first shirt and join the ranks of his dad, Glen, but Vergilio, bowling under the radar, put together a string of strikes in the last game and all of a sudden was the only bowler left to beat Daniel.  Vergilio finished with a turkey, strike in the 9th and a double in the 10th frames to steal a victory at 1023 and win his second title.  Daniel finished in second place worth $695.00 and Ken Reynolds 3rd place for $253.00.  Vergilio used a Storm IQ Tour ball drilled by Wes Flores of Exxxtreme 300 for his win.  Nice bowling Vergilio and congrats on your second title.  Our 9 Tap Jackpot came under fire as we had 7 bowlers with 3 No Taps until Desire’e Mariani settled it all with 4 No Taps and $150 for her efforts.
The Bowler of the Year 2012 (BOY) was crowned this past weekend with a Certificate for a 900 Global bowling ball.  Our BOY for 2012 is two-time Champion,Ben Ballesteros.  The BOY will receive a 900 Global bowling ball and a BOY Shirt (Green).  Congratulations, Ben!

Best 3 out of 4

The tour heads for Pali Lanes on January 26, for the “Best 3 out of 4”format and a favorite of our tour members.  The Progressive Pot is $1,271.00 and the 9 Tap Jackpot at $7,474.00 and getting larger.  Squad times are the same, 12:00 p.m.; 2:30 p.m.; and 5:00 p.m.  The New Year is upon us so, for our members who still do not have their 9 Tap shirts, you can get them from the Embroidery Gift Shop located in the Stadium Mall.  If you don’t want to buy a new shirt, take one that you already have and embroider the 9 Tap patch on it and that will be good enough with the Tour.  Mahalo, Tour Members!
