Wrap Up

Ken Reynolds wins with Flair!

The Tour bids farewell to another member of our military ohana, Robert Dougherty, as he makes his way back to the mainland. Robert is a staunch supporter of the 9 tap tour and a “Past Champion”, winning his title at Schofield Bowling Center.

Despite the challenges we faced at Pali Lanes with conflicting schedules and “Hy-Bred Scoring” condition, our tournament went on without too much of a hitch and 63 entries.  Ooooh!  Checked with Pali’s  mechanic and was assured that the pattern set for the day was the same for every tournament we had there.  Could have fooled me cause if you weren’t at Pali, you missed out on the scoring as it went “BALLISTIC”.  Yes, “scores went skyrocketing” on Saturday in all squads.  First Squad:  Dennis Matthews started the day off posting a score total of 1082, then waited to see if his score would hold on.  The first squad showed three (3) scores at 1000 or better.  Second Squad:  Steady Ben Ballesteros needing a 281, shot 263 and a 1059; Jimmy Moore started slow (207), but then got hot and shot 850, 1057 total and 25 pins short;  Craig Brink went 549 after 2 games then fell back with a 211 third game, a 285 fourth game and 37 pins short.  Brandon Hee made a valiant attempt but fell short with a final 1040.  Third Squad:    Micah Waiamau, Zhi Wen Lau and Eric Abarca all shot better than 1000 but well short of the leading score.

Kenny Reynolds started his third squad play with a great start and never looked back.  Kenny was in a zone, knew what was needed, went out and bowled with “flair and fashion” he is so noted for his ability to bowl in a pressure cooked situation.   After a first frame miss, Kenny goes off the sheet and steals the title away from Dennis.  Kenny wins $1,368.00 and his first title.  His bowling ball of choice was a Storm Reign, drilled by Virgil Dela Cruz of Exxxtreme 300.  He thanks Virgil and Roe Dela Cruz for their support, the 9 Tap Tour Staff, for holding these tournaments and most of all his biggest supporters, wife Lisa Reynolds, daughter Kennisa and son KJ.  Congrats Kenny on Win #1.

Alric Kutara was this weeks No Tap winner, stringing 4 No Taps in a row and winning $150 for his efforts.  The 9 Tap Jackpot sits at $7, 258 and the Progressive Pot at $1,155.  The Tours next stop will be at Ft. Shafter for the 9 Tap Tour HI Regions Anniversary.  Be sure to make your way to our next tournament at Ft. Shafter to win.
