Super Weekend! 

The 9 Tap Tour experienced another super weekend at Ft. Shafter with 96 entries and total payout of $5,400.00.  The scoring was again within an ideal target range, with  scores on the Cash List coming from a full range of averages, -1 to 43, with most of the cashers at mid range handicaps.  There were fifteen (15) members that had 2 no taps and won $10 for wearing their 9 Tap Shirts.  There was a jam at 4 No Taps for the day as Kevin Cruce, Calvin Haynes, Randy Kaea-Cook and Wayne Akagi shared in the consolation bonus, all winning $50 for their efforts.

The Tour's newest 1st Time Champion is Curtis Iha, who also came close at so many other Tournaments.   This time he came out of the gates shooting a nice 846 in the first squad and climbed into the #1 spot.  The Win didn't come easily and without a little drama, as Virgil Dela Cruz and Sidney Remigio gave chase.  Virgil put on a good showing in the last squad but fell one pin short at 845 and $692 richer.  A couple of breaks here and there would of made the difference for Sidney Remigio, as he posted a 796 for 3rd place and $345 bucks.  Curtis used his Brunswick Torrid, drilled by Nelson Weyl at Schofield Pro Shop.  With his win, Curtis can now silence daughter, Brittny who also won a tournament back in 2012.  Matter of fact it was the same format but bowled at Pali Lanes.  CONGRATS Curtis on Win #1! 

First Time Titlists at Ft. Shafter 

Last season Ft. Shafter produced 7 out of 8, 1st time Champions.  Back in January, Mike Signaigo of HBS started things off, Mike Lum followed in April, Solomon Chung, Jr. in June, Dwayne Corpuz (our lone 2 time winner at Shafter) in August, Lauralyn Samson, September, Waimanalo’s David Gilman in November, Jonathan Chaffin in December, and the tours final winner, Curtis Iha.  Scoring at Shafter has been consistent and all close calls.  Head Mechanic Wayne has been awesome in laying out the patterns that we request, Mahalo Wayne and a  Big Mahalo goes out to Lani Ring for her big support and having the 9 Tap Tour bowl at Ft. Shafter.
