High scoring was the term of the day at Pali Lanes and the 9 Tap Tour Hawaii.  Hawaii experienced its first in number of bowlers (6) cracking the 1000 scoring mark.  We have never had a large number of bowlers shooting 1000 in any of our tournaments but today was the exception.  The cut score of 953 was also the highest for any of our tournaments.

Our newest Champion and comma club member is Larry Toolie, Pali Lanes house bowler.  Larry was on fire from the onset and held on to win his first title.  His score of 1084 was good enough to ward off Ron Daquip’s 1065.  We also had our first husband and wife cashers, Ron and wife Dawn (5th Place), friend and significant other, Josh Cadelinia (3rd Place) and Amber Gomes (10th Place).  Also, sharing in the limelight was Bob Kailewa for shooting 5 no-taps earning him a consolation prize of $100.

Larry used a Columbia Full Swing bowling ball drilled by Chris Laboy of V’s Pro Shop.  He loves to spend his time with family, wife Miho and son Kai.  Larry is a 22 year veteran of the USMC and stationed at Kaneohe.   We asked Larry what will he do with his winnings and he says “buy my #1 fan, Kai a new bowling shoe”.  Congratulations, “Oohrah!”
