Back to Hickam Bowling Center after a 3 month tour of Pali, Schofield and Barbers Point Centers, Hawaii Region puts on another successful tournament. More new bowlers have joined the tour with some bowling in a tournament format for the very first time. As with our new Champion, Aaron Chock, it was the first time at tournament play of any kind and thoroughly enjoyed the chance to compete. In his words “I was very excited at the chance to participate and after bowling the first squad, I was having fun, bowled pretty good, and thought I would reenter into the last squad.” As it turned out for Aaron, it was a great decision. Aaron entered the last squad and immediately made an impression on the rest of the squad, knocking down 1122 pins and derailed Dane Yasuda, who was the tournament leader at 1012. Jason Kotani, Mark Barry and John Hata made valiant attempts, but a couple of splits did them in. With his winnings, Aaron plans to save it for another 9 Tap tournament. Aaron used an Ebonite Infinite One drilled by Strike’em Pro Shop for his win.

Dane Yasuda had a chance to hit our 9 Tap Jackpot for $2676 fell short as the 5th frame natural strike gave him just 4 no taps and a $50 consolation prize. That takes the Pali tournament's 9 Tap Jackpot to $3460. See you all there and don't forget to tell your friends about us.
