HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!! The 9 Tap Tour Hawaii celebrated its 1st anniversary, with a good number of giveaways to our members. From buff-a-balls to bowling balls, there was excitement, fun and great bowling. Our sponsors were great as they provided gift certificates as well as other giveaways to members of the 9 Tap Tour Hawaii Region. This weekend’s bowling had lots of highlights as it provided the 9 Tap Tour with record numbers. The tour had the largest number of entrees (80); number of cashers (16); payouts ($4,663); progressive pot ($1,574); and the highest paid winner ($1,563). Randy Kaea-Cook became our highest paid Champion to date in winning $1563. It all started in the 1st squad of the day as Kevin Cruce posted the best score of squads 1 and 2 at 869. It seemed unbeatable until the final squad. That’s when the fireworks started. Kevin Becera (5) was as consistent as one could get by posting games of 277, 275, 278 and an 845 series for 5th place. Lonnie Neves (-3) started with back to back 300’s, only to move lanes and couldn’t get zeroed in as he was in the first 2 games and finished with a nice 266 and an 857 series for 4th place. James Pirtle (0) started slow with his first game at 228, then got hot and went 266, 300, 298 for an 864 and 3rd place. Kevin Cruce (17) posted games of 262, 276, 280 for an 869 series and 2nd place. Randy Kaea-Cook (11) took control of the day as he started with games of 300, 277, and 268 for a winning total of 878 and his first championship. Asked what he would do with his winnings, he said, “give it to the wife”, another smart man. Randy and Kevin Cruce has become best friends, so when Randy posted his winning score, he apologized to Kevin for beating him. Kevin responded with, “I’m glad I lost to you then someone else”. Randy used a Brunswick Loaded Revolver drilled by JP’s Reaction Pro Shop. |
