This Sunday, 9 Tap Tour was at Secoma Lanes, to help them celebrate their "Grand Re-Opening" and celebrate Mike Martin's many years serving the bowling community. We all appreciate the super job that Jeff Swanson and his staff did accommodating our record turnout.
The Celebration Weekend turned into the Largest tournament in Tour History with 305 entries, with SIXTY-TWO making the Cash List. This also helped the Bracket Table break records with them paying out the most in history, $4,976.00, the most Brackets ever played, and a record Scratch Pot paying $910.00
Out of all that, the 9-Tap Jackpot was not seriously challenged for most of the day. Jenn Jacobs came the closest to the Jackpot with 6 out of 7 Taps, but an errant shot in the 2nd frame cost her the prize. David Kim hit the Front-4 Taps to take the $150.00 consolation prize. The 9-Tap Jackpot took its largest one-week increase ever, leaping over ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS in one tournament, and will be at $10,380.00 next week.

With all the records falling, it would be fitting that we would have a
1st Time Champion on the Tour to win the tournament.
Brian Ward who shot a career high series
848, with a career high game of
298 to finish the series. Brian became the
SEVENTH 1st-Time Champion in the last nine tournaments. Brian wore his
Dexter DexLite Pro BOA shoes on his way to the championship, and said that even though he shot under 600 in an earlier squad, his friend, Brett Harrison told him to bowl again. Brian felt good at the end of that squad, and decided to bowl again, and it was his best decision of the day. Brian earned a cool,
$2,498.00 for his efforts. Congratulations Brian!
Running in the 2nd place position was Calvin Jones scoring 822 series for the day. This is Calvin's first time making the Cash List, as he just started on the Tour in June. For his first time, Calvin earned $1,124.00 for his efforts on the day.
Karl Helbich shot an 810 series on Sunday, to take 3rd place. Karl was looking for his 3rd Tour Championship, but with his great bowling still earned a nice $565.00
