Secoma Lanes
March 16th, 2025

Total Paid Out: $20,146.00

Wrap Up

Another amazing  Tournament at Secoma Lanes. The 'Good News' is we filled every available spot (including using the Breakdown Pair) in all 3 squads and all 32 lanes.  The 'Bad News', we sadly had to turn away some bowlers in all 3 squads.  The result was another new record 296 Entries and a record payout of $20,146.00.  Amazingly, we stayed ON-TIME all day, thanks to the great job from the Secoma team and our 9-Tap Tour members.  A veryBIG THANKS to Jeff Swanson, Secoma's new Owner/Manager, who helped us to add spots in last squad, which limited the number who didn't get in. We also want to share our HUGE THANKS to the retiring Owner/Manager of Secoma Mike Martin for all his many years of support of the 9-Tap Tour & CONGRATULATIONS for his well deserved retirement!!

The 9-Tap Jackpot again survived with just a little bruising.  We had TWO more bowlers take home $750.00 each from the 9-Tap Jackpot, Marilyn Mateo and Ruong Sa Tang,  making it FIVE bowlers in the last 3 Tourneys tapping the Pot for $750.00.  The MASSIVE turnout also sustained the Progressive Pot, at double the size of what we used to consider normal, still a HUGE $4,387.00 for next weeks 'Best 3 of 4' format at Hi Joy Bowl

 Marilyn's 7-Middle Taps for $750.00          Ruong's 7-Middle Taps for $750.00

1st Place - Skip Shear scored 809, the only 800 series this Tournament, for a hefty $3,415.00 check.

Skip earned his 5th Tour Title in unique fashion, which is fitting considering the ironies in his first four wins.  His 1st Title came in 2013 when we were Test Marketing an 'Elite Division' for the Tour, for the higher average bowlers.  Skip took a shot at the higher Division and took down the 'Big Guns' at Skyway.  3 of his next 4 Titles (regular Tour) all have come at Secoma Lanes.  He won the 2018 3rd Quarter Championship at Secoma as well.  Sunday, after struggling a bit earlier, Skip re-entered the last squad and nearly shot a BIG TRIPLICATE with games of 263-263-265.  With little handicap, he needed those big scores to take the Title by just 10 pins.  Skip said this was very good timing as it was his and his wife's 39 anniversary March 7th, 2025.  He will also be golfing in Vegas next week.  Skip wants to thank Walt Dalrymple and Tim Fierro for cheering him on and the league leprechaun (Magic Bristol) for the gold coin and the luck of the Irish!

2nd Place – Jamal Muhammad scored a 799 missing his 3rd title by just 10 pins but still received a very nice check for $1,488.00.  Jamal is always smiling and supporting a positive attitude.  He won his 1st title in 2023 at Skyway and his second title at HiJoy in 2024.  His career earnings, now at $9,317.00, are getting very close to that $10,000.00 milestone.

3rd Place - Jerry Smith, scored 795 for a payday of $744.00.  Jerry was right on target tossing his best series for a 3-Game format.  His career earnings have now reached $12,108.00.
