Wrap Up

We had a fabulous turn-out of 188 entries, all vying to break the Jackpot but also fighting for the Top Spot during our recent 'Best 3 of 4" format.  While the competition was tough, the final squad gave the most nail biting performance we have seen in a while.  5 Bowlers cracked the magic 800 mark, compared to the last time we were at Paradise with no 800s scored.  James Federe (801 in squad 1) & Leticia Salazar (803 in squad 2) were each seeking Title #1 and set the bar high for the other competitors.

Several bowlers came close to 7-Middle Taps Saturday, but none closer than Malou Aninion who just missed with 6 out of 7 at both ends of her string.  Ruong Sa Tang also came close to grabbing  7-Middle Taps.  In the end it was THREE bowlers with the Front-5 Taps that took a combined $1,125.00 from the Jackpot.

Congratulations to Keo Sai on his 1st Tour Title.  Last week he took 2nd Place and vowed that he would walk away with the 1st Place position today.  Starting his first 3 games for the squad with an 842, he needed to improve from his earlier 193 (scr) game to surpass the 844 that was the 'leader in the clubhouse'.  It was looking tight, but after strikes in frames 8 & 9, he only needed a spare and a good count to take the lead.  A 10th frame baby-split looked like it might derail that effort, but like a Champion, he stepped up and made the spare, giving him a narrow THREE pin VICTORY!!!  Keo said that his close friend and fellow Tour Member, Raymond Sedeno, who passed away last month, was riding on his shoulders on the critical shot and helped him earn the $2,090.00 Winner's Share.

75-year-old Dennis Latham, got fired up shooting an 844 series despite a 9th frame open, momentarily placing him first. That open untimately cost him his 2nd Title.  His efforts yielded him $946.00 for his 2nd Place finish. He is definitely reminded the younger bowlers to step up their game.

Rounding out our Top 3 is, Eddie Burdsall.  Starting strong with a scratch 300, he established the bar in the third squad but was halted due to an open 10th frame.  He walks away with $479.00.

Next week we will be at West Seattle Bowl. Squad times are 10:00 – 12:30 & 3:00. Progressive Pot is at $2,645.00 and the 9-Tap Jackpot is at a whopping $11,472.00. Remember to get there early due to parking. See you all there.
