Kent Bowl
June 7th, 2025

Total Paid Out: $13,147.00

Wrap Up

There are just a few Centers where we've watched scores rise, as the temperature climbs.  Kent Bowl has been one of those Centers in the past, so before we started the day, we were curious as to whether the weather would lead to higher scores.  It wasn't all that hot outside Saturday, as a result the scores were just very slightly higher than in recent history.  An impressive FIVE bowlers did top the 800 plateau, while EVERY bowler that reached 700 made the 'Cash List', with the 'Cut-Line' at a perfect 702.  The day ran very smoothly and on-time, although we did have a computer glitch after the Tourney that slowed up the checks a bit.  The amazing string of BIG payouts from the

9-Tap Jackpot this year continued.  Kent Bowl has now had THREE BIG payouts in our last 4 visits.  This week it was Ruong Sa Tang coming through with 7-Middle Taps for a nice $500.00 payday, pushing 2025's staggering Jackpot payouts to $21,460.00 already.  The 9-Tap Jackpot still managed to grow to $7,296.00, inching ever closer to the $8K mark when the Consolations will all increase by 50%.

1st Place - Veteran Tour bowler and 'Hall of Fame' Member Thang Duc Thai racked up his 13th Career Title Saturday with his best series since 2022.  Bowling in the 1st Squad, his sweet 841 held up all day despite a number of bowlers who had him within their sight.  The Tour's #4 All-Time Career Earner boosted his Prize Money total to an impressive $66,812.00, thanks to his $2,694.00 winnings at Kent.

Congratulations on your 13th Title  Thang  Duc Thai!!!

2nd Place – Kevin Catoalso shot his BIG series in the first squad.  His 830 series was his Personal Best and he tossed-in a 298 game also shattering his PB game, for a very nice sum of $1,187.00.  Kevin joined the Tour in 2022 and won a his first Title in 2023.  Looks like he's aiming for another Title this year.

3rd Place - Samson Ibale, a Hall of Famer and 33 Time Champ scored an excellent 808 and received a very nice 3rd place check for $622.00.  That pushes the 23 year Tour Vet & #1 All-Time Earner to and amazing $116,017.00!!! Samson had been in a slump but he's clearly breaking out and moving up the Cash List.

Miles Nerona & Nicholas Buchanan were the other two to crack 800, both chasing their first Tour Titles.  Miles & wife Amy have been fairly regular participants, traveling all the way down from beautiful Campbell River, B.C. (more that 1/2 way up Vancouver Island on the Inland Passage).
