Another GREAT turnout of 215 bowlers at Daffodil Bowl, made for a strong 'Cash List' of 43 Members and a perfect 'Cut-Line' score.  THANKS to Daffodil for a smooth day with every squad staying on-time... our bowlers also deserve credit for our timely finishes.  This week's Champ won by a narrow 5-pin margin, with FOUR of the Top 5 finishers chasing their 1st Tour Title.  We had a very slightly higher 'Cut-Line' at 711 this week and true to Daffodill's consistent history, we had only two scores that topped 800.  The large number of bowlers again produced even more assaults on the 9-Tap Jackpot than we had last week... the disappointing difference was that zero of them converted on their 'money shot' this week.  ALL were shooting for #7 in the Middle this time, but Paul Kelly had the double disappointment of getting 'Burned-on-Both-Ends' after he started with a strike in frame #1, followed by SIX Taps, then tossing another strike in the 8th, so he could have had the Front-7 or the Middle-7 but ended up with neither (see below).  Instead, 3 bowlers took advantage of the 'Ties Paid-In-Full' that just went into effect this week, with Troy Breeding, Karl Helbich & Jeff Price all tied with 4-Taps for $100.00 each.

Paul Kelly gets 'Burned-on-Both-Ends'  

1st Place - Paul Kelly earned his first Tour Title Sunday, since joining in early 2024.  After getting off to a slow start in his first entry, he certainly got lined up for his re-entry, shooting a fantastic 828 series.  Although his run at the Jackpot game ended in a nice 265, his secret Sunday was that he stayed consistent with a low game of 212.  He also made up for missing out on his near misses from the 9-Tap Jackpot, with his $3,117.00  Champions Check.  Paul said he just felt like everything was going right plus he was getting some lucky breaks.  He wants to thank Nicholas Pagdilao, Brian Selck, Thang Thai, Red Mateo, Matthew Hert, Huyen Thai, and Joshua Brown for cheering him on.  He plans on using his winnings to pay off some bills and more importantly, take his beautiful wife out to dinner and shopping.   

2nd Place – John Hartjoined the Tour in 2020. His history shows he has typically cashed when participating in our 4-Game Format so was extremely excited to score 823 in a 3-Game and collect a splendid check in the amount of $1,367.00 for his efforts.  He's had some near misses for a Title in the past, now sporting a nearly complete set, with a 2nd, 3rd & 4th.  We're sure he'll soon add a 1st to that list. 

3rd Place - Huyen Thai, a Hall of Famer and 10 Time Champ who recently topped $50,000.00 in career earnings, scored an excellent 799 and received a very nice 3rd place check for $689.00.  Huyen had been in a slump for a few months, but he's clearly breaking out over the last few weeks.
