This week 9 Tap Tour traveled to Bowlero-Acme in Tukwila to hold the bowler's favorite format "Best 3 of 4" Tournament on Sunday. An awesome 204 bowlers showed up to the venue with 41 making the Cash List. The lane conditions were near perfect with a cut line of 710, and six bowlers shooting 800 and above, and we had a very well balanced and very diverse range of handicaps from just 2 pins to a high of 66 pins, just like we love to see!
The
9-Tap Jackpot, as we predicted in the Wednesday newsletter, was constantly peppered by bowlers going after it. We had a record of FIVE different bowlers getting to throw ONE-BALL for
$500.00, in addition to the many others that had 6 out of 7 Taps.
Sa
mson Ibale had a shot at the Front-6 Taps, but had an 8 count in the 6th frame.
Brian Ahern,
Tim Fierro,
and Helen Salagan
all had shots at the Middle-7 Taps, but the only successful one was
Jason Struna,

who earned the
$500.00 Consolation Prize. The
9-Tap Jackpot still grew by enough to put us over
$8,000.00, triggering a
50% INCREASE in all of the Consolation Bonuses for next week's tournament.
At the end of the day, Greg Burdsall ended up being on top of the Cash List, winning his 5th 9-Tap Tour Championship, scoring a great 841. Greg said that he was in the proverbial 'Zone', but he had been in that position before, and was still nervous, even though he was shooting so well. Greg was shooting so well, that he had the lead after his third game, meaning his 4th game could be his 'throw-away' game. Rob kiddingly told him that whatever he shot in game #4 would be deducted from his first 3... he tossed out a 222. The $2,604.00 check has now pushed his career earnings over $28,000.00 which doesn't include side pots. Greg liked to thank his brother, Eddie, for rooting him on, and the staff for running such a smooth tournament.
Just missing his 2nd Tour Championship was Gavin Chan, shooting 833 to take 2nd place in the Tournament. Gavin won last year at the Angel of the Winds and had not been shooting that well the last few weeks, but found a nice groove yesterday. Gavin earned a sweet $1,151.00 for his great shooting.
Squeaking into 3rd place was Edmond Nera shooting 817, beating out Bill Henry by just 2 pins. Edmond is still looking for his 1st championship. Edmond still received a $620.00 check for his outstanding effort.
