The 9-Tap Tour stopped at Kent Bowl last Sunday, and the temperature inside matched the warmth outside.  We had a near full house all day with 166 entries, with the cut line at a reasonable 674. 

One person had the tournament day of his life as you will soon find out.  Starting with the 9-Tap Jackpot.  Early on the 9-Taps were sparse, but as the day went on the hits were getting bigger.  Jessica Trinidad-Hill went for the Middle-7 in the 2nd squad, but followed in the 3rd squad going for the Middle-7 and then throwing a perfect strike on the last ball.

Then came Dennis Latham, sitting on the Front-5 before the belt broke on the ball return.  After about a 10 minute delay, in the 6th frame he shot a perfect Brooklyn leaving the 9-pin.  According to Dennis the nerves were really setting in, and in the 7th frame, Dennis left the 10-pin to Hit the Jackpot for $7,996.  This was the 2nd highest 9-Tap Jackpot in the history of the Tour. The big day continued for Dennis as he finished in 1st place shooting the winning score of 808.  Dennis does not usually play in all 3 squads but kept getting better throughout the day. After losing the lead he had in the 1st squad, he figured he would give it another shot in the 3rd.  This is Dennis's 1st 9-Tap Tour Championship, he earned a check of $2,309 for the First Place finish, and in all including the 9-Tap Jackpot, Scratch Pot, and Brackets, won approximately $10,700.  Dennis would like to thank all of his lane mates for their support, especially through the delay.  Dennis said, that he was going to use his winnings on purchasing a set of wedding rings for his wife.  Congratulations Dennis, on your special day. 

Taking 2nd place this week, Joseph Frank shooting 791.  Joseph earned an extra big 2nd place check of $1,034.  That made Joseph the newest member of the career $10,000 club with career earnings of $10,950.  Nice job Joseph! 

Right behind Joseph, in 3rd place was Jeremy Milam who scored a 786.  Jeremy earned a nice check of $509.
