HiJoy Lanes
February 3rd, 2024

Total Paid Out: $10,927.00

Wrap Up

The 9-Tap Tour went over to the other side of Puget Sound, to Hi-Joy Bowl in Port Orchard, where we had 146 entries compete for another nice payout. The lane conditions were good, but we found out that Hi-Joy put in new pins a few weeks ago, that made our scores a little higher than our "goldilock" zone, with a  cut line was at a reasonable 757, and nine scores over 800.

As what seemed like a prophecy of the 9-Tap Jackpot being written in the Wednesday newsletter, prophecies can come true.  Late in the 1st squad, the 73 year old, Tom Weber from Belfair (Dennis Latham also 73 years old), took his shot at the Front-7, and on the money ball left the 3-pin (click the link to watch it https://youtu.be/vxgeYqkTV4o ).  Tom's shot earned him $2,140 from the Jackpot, and a part of 9-Tap history, not only Front-7 being hit in back-to-back events, but back-to-back squads.

This week's champion came in with his big smile and friendly demeanor, and striked his way to a championship.  Jamal Muhammad shot 870 to win his 2nd 9-Tap Championship with his Gem Overseas Hybrid wearing his Dexter 9 shoes.  Jamal came in with a sore knee, but said that it made him slow down and focusing more on his game.  Jamal earned $2,187 for his efforts and thanks God and everyone for supporting him. Congratulations Jamal!

Taking 2nd place this week, was newcomer Dean Lindley shooting 863.  Dean led in the 2nd squad, and almost became the 2nd bowler since 2011, to win on the same day that they joined the tour.  The re-entry helped Dean find the zone and win a cool $737.

3rd place this week, who made a strong run to near the top of the list, Jordan Heil shot 845.  Jordan earned $508 for his efforts on the day
