Daffodil Bowl
February 11th, 2024

Total Paid Out: $10,917.00

Wrap Up

The 9-Tap Tour stopped in Puyallup, on Sunday at Daffodil Lanes to hold our Big Game tournament.  We had a Super turnout of 182 bowlers compete for 36 spots on the cash list, with a reasonable cut line of 682.  Our turnout was so big, that we used our "Breakdown Pair," and our "Buffer Pair," to accomadate everyone that wanted to bowl in the first two squads.  Even doing that, it was the first time that we had to turn away a few bowlers in each of those squads.  Kudos to Daffodil's staff, that we had no breakdowns throughout the day and we stayed on schedule.

After getting hit the last two weeks by Dennis Latham and Tom Weber, the 9-Tap Jackpot had an easy week this time around, even though historically this has not been the case at Daffodil.  Several bowlers got the Front-3 taps, but Walt Dalrymple who drives over from Moses Lake, hit the Front-4 taps, late in the day, to get the $100 consolation prize.  The 9-Tap Jackpot will jump to $1,738 for next week's tournament.

This week, Will Twyman established the mark that bowlers tried to surpass, but none could, with a score of 789, to achieve his 3rd Tour Championship.  Will was wearing his Dexter 9 shoes while rolling his Storm Phase V ball, drilled by Robert Kelly at Secoma Lanes.  Will said that he felt good after the first game, and just rode the momentum throughout the series.  He would like to thank his friend, and fellow bowler, Adam Hamlet, and the rest of the bowlers on his pair for their support.  Will's great bowling earned him $2,296.  Congratulations Will!

Taking 2nd place this week, Kris Branscum shooting a 781 for his first Top-3 finish in his short 9-Tap career.  Kris knew he had a chance, but one too many open frames kept him from getting to the pedestal.  Kris earned $1,028 for his great effort on the day.

Taking 3rd place this week is Saman Seng, who also made a strong run to the top of the list, with a score of 777.  Saman, who you will see at almost every tournament, earned himself a nice $519 check.
