The 9-Tap Tour went up north to the Angel of the Winds Casino for this week's tournament that featured 156 bowlers, which was the greatest turnout at this venue to date.  We would like to thank Stacia and her team for running a well oiled machine all day.  

31 bowlers made the cash list with 3 scores over 800 and a cut line of 686, right in the Goldilocks zone.  A couple of other notes, a special thanks to Rene and Tuesday Malicdan as they brought 6 bowlers down to join the Tour from Canada.  Also, it was great seeing Leon showing up after being sick the last couple of weeks, supplying his wisdom and humor to all of us. 

The 9-Tap Jackpot was threatened early on in the tournament.  Walt Dalrymple had his 2nd "Golden Shot" attempt in his career and Walt came up just a little light leaving the 2-5 (watch the shot here).  Walt earned himself the $500.00 consolation prize for hitting the Front-6 Taps.  Guess he needs to be 73 years old to hit #7 this year.  The 9-Tap Jackpot still went up to $2,689.00

This week we crowned a 1st-Time Champion of the Tour, Gavin Chan, who shot a great 841.  Gavin has been coming close lately getting a 2nd place at the Doubles tournament this year, and also taking 2nd a few weeks back.  Gavin was wearing his Dexter DexLite Pro shoes while rolling his Rhino Pearl.  Gavin said, that the ball chose him, as it was a shipping error when he ordered his shoes. Gavin will be using his $2,724.00 winnings for some new equipment, and the rest towards vacation to Japan.  Gavin would like to thank his wife Allison and his "Superninja Jimmy" teammates for all of their support.  Congratulations Gavin! 

Taking 2nd place this week, making a run at Gavin was Saman Seng with a great score of 820.  Saman just came up on claiming his first title, but still earned an impressive $1,265.00 check for his efforts. 

Charles Clarke rounded out our top-3, taking 3rd place with a wonderful score of 812.  This is Charles first Top-3 finish and earned a nice $610.00 check for his great shooting.
