Returning to Skyway Park Bowl for our 'Best 3 of 4' format.  The scoring Saturday was actually very much on-target, with the exception of one spectacular score!  We had a low-to-cash of 746 earning the 26th spot on the Cash List, thanks to an excellent turnout of 130 bowlers and we actually had a smooth day once we got past the first squad.  But, we were never able to get back on time, thanks to having 8 bowlers per pair in both the last few squads.  After the first squad we had some excitement as our leader was none other than Leon Bemis (91 next month) with a score of 797.  

The 9-Tap Jackpot is always in jeopardy when coming to Skyway, as the last TWO Front 7-Taps were hit there.  For most of the day 3 Taps were in the lead, as 5 bowlers racked up the Front-3.  Then we had 3 bowlers finish up the day with the Front-4 Taps, each receiving $150.00.  This is where the excitement began, when Travis Washington had the chance to close out his game with the Middle-7 Taps.  Taking his time, Travis threw the perfect shot to the pocket, leaving the 7 pin standing... only to have it slowly fall over.  It was like slow motion watching $750.00 fall to the wayside!  Check out his video on his final shot.

Every bowler has his once in a lifetime day, where everything is working.  Our Champion, Jonathan Fahlander had that day on Saturday.  Lacing up his Dexter the NINES shoes and grabbing his Motiv Iron Forge ball he struggled through a 188 first game, Jonathan could not miss, everything just fell in the groove, as he fired an incredible TOUR RECORD 913 series.  His huge margin of victory of 87 pins, was so big, that he didn’t need his handicap of 15 pins per game and his scratch score would have still won by FORTY-TWO pins!!.  Jonathan’s new 9-Tap Tour record, for a Best 3 of 4 format, edged out Kannha Tong's 906, set at Bowlero on 6-8-2019.  He says his winnings really come at a great time, as he plans on using his $2,174.00 for Christmas presents. 

 

Having 4 Titles under his belt, Jessie Sherman took 2nd Place with a very nice 826 series, that would normally have been enough to WIn.  Its been two years since his last title, Jessie might be getting back in the groove for his next victory.  Jessie takes home a nice check for $970.00 this week. 

A two time Champion, Joseph Frank III, took 3rd Place at Skyway.  Firing a nice 818 series in the final squad, Joseph just set his Personal Best score for a 3-game set.  Joseph brings home a great third place check worth $498.00.
