With the unexpected bye last week the 9-Tap members showed up in droves with an impressive 137 entries on Saturday at Bowlero-Lakewood.  The scores were a little higher compared to previous tournaments with 9 1,000 scores, and a cut line of 946, but still turned out a competitive tournament.  We would like to thank Bill and his staff for hosting us on Saturday with getting this tournament off with very few glitches.

  

Before the tournament started we awarded 2 of our 9-Tap Bowler's accomplishments.  David Kim received his plaque for $20,000 career earnings.  We also awarded Lewis Harley his tournament championship shirt and unveiled his pennant that will be hanging during our tournaments that he won at the Year-End Championship, last month.

 This weekend with the 9-Tap Jackpot over $9,600, the decision was made to the bowler's favorite, $10 for the front 2 9-Taps.  25 different bowlers accomplished the feat, with Walt Dalrymple, Jerry Smith, and Christina Miller doing it twice, paying out $280 total.The Jackpot got rocked early by rookie, Saman Seng, after throwing a real strike in the 1st, hit the next 7 9-taps, to collect $750.  Next tournament's Jackpot will be $8,939.

Almost two years ago she started our 2021 season with a championship, Barb Rosengren "almost" starts our 2023 season with her 3rd career Championship with a BIG score of 1091.  Barb used her Brunswick Strike King drilled by Dave Hansen at Paradise Lanes.  Barb, a retired corrections officer, doesn't know what she will do with her $1,968 check, but would love to thank her husband Paul, her great friend, Tara Strand, Brian Peters, and Bob Rouse for their encouragement and support. 

The man with the Target on his Back, Nathan Koprek, shot a career high score of 1083, for a 2nd Place Finish. Nathan, who was looking for his 2nd Tour Championship, earned a nice check of $886 for his efforts. 

Sliding into the 3rd place slot was Jacob Saulsbury with a score of 1052.  This is Jacob's first top-3 finish on the Tour since joining in 2018, which landed him $488.
