Wrap Up

Wow, was yesterday HOT. Temperatures outside hit over 100 degrees.  First two squads were lite in size, but as the temperature rose, bowlers apparently wanted to get out of the heat.  Squad size did rise and so did the temp in the bowling alley, but it was much cooler than outside.  The temp most likely affected the bowlers and the oil pattern, as scores were all over the board.  David Kim lead after two squads with a nice 975 series, and the tournament finished with only two players over 1000. The low-to-cash again had everyone over 900 making the cash list.   With a low Member number of 38, Ray Grissom made a comeback Saturday after 16 years, he last bowled with the Tour in 2005, amazingly he still had his old Tour shirt and he wore it.

The 9-Tap Jackpot  had three bowlers in the running for the Consolation.  After two squads two bowlers had the front three, by the third squad one had strung 4 taps.  But, Jesse Sherman knocked them off the board when he ran off 7-Middle Taps.  He hit his 7th in the 11th frame of his last game, earning a sweet $500.00. Nice going Jesse.
Our Hiline Champion this week is Jesse Sherman.  Jesse has been struggling since returning from the COVID layoff.  We can now say he is on a hot streak.  Winning two weeks ago at Daffodil Lanes, he took a week off, and returned to fire a 1017 series for his third title.  He also took home $500.00 for his middle 7 in a row.  Jesse has been on the tour for just under two years.  He used his Storm HyRoad Pearl, (drill in Burlington, Wa.)  taking advantage of of a re-entry and really improving his score!  With this win he is taking home a nice $1,964.00 and another $500.00 for the 9 tap jackpot.

Taking second place is Bob Anderson, who is new to the tour and bowling his 4th tournament.  He just got locked in and fired the only other 1000 series, with a 1002. Bob lead the tour after the 3 squad and waited to see if he won his 1st title.  He had a 20 pin lead, only to fall short with Jesse Sherman beating him in the final squad. Nice bowling, and a prize of $693.00.

Third place went to Mike Miller, who had a chance  to win, but fell a few shots short.  This would have been his second title and has had a few second and third place finishes before.  With his 994 series he is taking home $413.00
