Wrap Up

There never seems to be a dull moment when the tour makes our way to Secoma Lanes and Saturday was no exception. With an impressive 158 total entries and 32 bowlers on the Cash List, the day ended with plenty of excitement as seven bowlers closed out their day with a chance at the title!

We begin our weekly wrap-up with the news that the 9 Tap Jackpot was taken for $750.00 by Ruong Sa Tang, who hit the 'Middle 7'!  Because it happened so quickly and was in the last frame, we were scrambling to get a camera out to record the feat.  However, Ruong was quite accomodating, without anyone even asking him to do so, he waited a couple of minutes in order for us to take video of his 7th shot!  Click on the picture below for the video!  That was awesome, Ruong!

Our early leaderAaron Youngposted a sweet 995 to start the day off with the proverbial target on his back.  As we wrapped up the day, Aaron tumbled down the standings to 9th as he was edged out by Karol Knight's 999 while SEVEN others cracked 1000.  Just SIX pins separated four cash spots just below the podium with Jeff Scott continuing his fine play of late as his 1009 matched Ken McAllister's with the two tied to share 6th and $430.00.  Jesse Sherman was two pins better to claim 5th and $245.00, just four pins shy of Joyce Roberts and her 1015 set for 4th and $265.00

As Jeff, Ken, Jesse & Joyce were all very much in contention for the title, Jon SchneiderBill Jones & Justin Miller were all around 800 heading into their final games.  Schneider, really had it going in those first three games and seems to have his game tuned up very well for Las Vegas next week.  Jon wound up at 1025, in 3rd Place, just two pins shy of 2nd where Bill found himself after having a couple of errant shots in his last game which cost him that elusive first tour win.  Jones wound up cashing in for $903.00, easily his biggest check in quite some time!  Great bowling!

Back in October, Justin Miller earned his first tour win, backed it up with win #2 just two weeks later, it's been just three months since that and he's back in the win column for the third time, shooting 1074 to take home the victory for $1,966.00.  Nick at Hi Joy Bowl in Port Orchard drilled the DV8 'Grudge' ball as Justin said "I was a little nervous in the last game, but had lots of fun!" adding "I really appreciate the 9-Tap Tour staff, all of my fellow bowlers and, of course, my Mom."

After talking to his Mom, Christina, we found out that driving over to our tournaments alone from the Kitsap Peninsula had been a challenge for Justin, since she had always done the driving.  In fact, Justin had a phobia of sorts when it came to driving over the Narrows Bridge.  It was only recently, last week at Bowlero, in fact, when he drove solo for the first time!  Bowling on the tour means that much to the 22-year old, who has literally grown up in front of our very eyes, for those who have been around for the last decade or more.

Don't forget that we are OFF next week as the tour heads to Las Vegas!  Safe travels to those of you who are joining us and we'll see everyone else in two weeks at Kenmore Lanes where we'll have a VERY healthy Progressive Pot waiting for you!
