Saturday at Skyway Park Bowl, the tour drew 150 entries as we continued our awesome post summer break run with 150 or more entries for the fourth straight week!  Not that we could do anything about it, but the heat was up 'outside' which extended to the 'inside' with a broken air conditioner.  As always, our bowlers overcame the obstacle and put up some impressive scores, including SIX who were over 800 for the 'Best 3 of 4' format. 

We thought that scores would be on the lower side due to the warm conditions as well as some bowlers mentioning that the lanes were a little on he "slick" side. We made no adjustments to the pattern since our last visit to Skyway, so we'll chalk those "slick" conditions up to the weather...?  

Tim Fierro got the day started by hitting the 'Front 5' taps then in the very next squad, Roland Jarata did the same. Right after that, Roland's son, Ajay hit the 'Middle 6' and had a chance for $750.00 on his 7th shot, then buried the pocket for a perfect "real' strike. With that said, Tim & Roland each picked up the very satisfying $375.00 consolation prize. The Jackpot heads to our 3rd Quarter Championship next week at a very healthy $9,062.00.

We also want to pass along the information regarding the3-Person Team Event at Narrows Plaza on September 7th.  Yes, we are taking walk-ins for this event, but we strongly encourage pre-registration for this as we expect a large turnout and would like to reserve enough lanes to accomodate us.  To reserve your team's spot, simply print and cut-out the below reservation slip <OR> email us with your team's info email at rob1@9taptour.com

One other thing we wanted to mention before recapping Saturday's tournament is regarding the Las Vegas tournament scheduled for the end of January at Gold Coast Hotel & Casino.  Some have already booked their trip and are reporting to us that that Alaska Airlines had flights for around $116.00 round trip!  Might be a good idea to book now! 

As we mentioned, SIX bowlers broke 800 this week, including Brian Peters who shot a 298 game on his way to a 6th Place 801, Dan Grass with an impressive 802, just behind Vin Trenh's 4th Place 803.  In 3rd Place this week  was Tong Nguyen who shot three great games (266-265-279) for 810 and $572.00.  In 2nd Place wasJamie Nazario who bowled great prior to an extremely unfortunate shoe-sticking situation.  Jamie's 3rd squad 266-315-252 performance for 833 was good for a nice 2nd place check for $1,089.00.  Nice work, Jamie! 

We had bowlers in town form all over the map this week, including Yakima & Seabeck, Wa ; Beaver Creek, Oregon;Surrey, British Columbia; and Maywood, Illinois just to name a few.  Our winner had plenty of windshield time as well...That's right, Jesse Sherman made the 90-mile tripfrom Elma, Wa and walked away with his first tour win!  Jesse had scratch games of 290-266-250 (+22 hdcp) for an incredible 872!  We don't know a whole lot about Jesse as he's new to the tour, in fact this was just his 4th tournament since joining us about a month ago.  Jesse put together his great series in the first squad and hit the road shortly thereafter. We did reach him so he could get us a photo and, of course, to let him know that he'd won, but as we went to press with this newsletter, we weren't able to get the typical 'bio' information so we could let you know more about him.  Mr. Sherman's 1st Place check for $2,449.00 is one of the biggest winner's shares this year and we congratulate you, Jesse on your BIG WIN!
