![]() Early last week we received a note from Roxbury's Manager, Ron Davenport letting us know ahead of time that he had been experiencing some major mechanical problems with the lanes and was working on them...As Saturday wrapped up we were elated to see that Ron's hard work paid off as there were very minimal mechanical issues to speak of. Thanks Ron!
As everyone who joined us on Saturday knows, scoring was up for the second straight week...This time due to a programming error, resulting in a 'House Shot' and more BIG scores. We've had tournaments with higher scoring, but research shows us that five times in the last ten years we've had what we'd call a 'House Shot' oil pattern with just one of those times being scheduled or intentional. Each time, there were bowlers shooting over 1000, missing the Cash List. Secoma Lanes (2016) holds the record for the most 1100s in one day (19) while Skyway Park Bowl (2010) had 31 who bettered 1000. As for the aforementioned planned 'House Shot' Tourney...Well, that was at Narrows Plaza Bowl in 2014 and 35 people shot over 1000. We'd like to point out that as a result of this week's ULTRA-HIGH scoring, we've decided to throw out all of the scoring, meaning that scores this week will NOT count against anyone's average. Long Gets 5-7-10 Split Followed By 'Middle 7' Many bowlers will NEVER leave the 5-7-10 split in their bowling lives but this was not the case for Aaron Long as early in one of his games he left it and was visibly embarassed as we took video of his spare attempt. As it turned out, on the very next shot, Aaron began his journey towards the 'Middle 7' 9-taps for $750.00, taking advantage of our recent increase in Jackpot payouts. You MUST watch the video below to see his 7th shot as he actually needed a messenger to get it done! Click on any of the photos (below) to see the shot! Lassley Tosses Very Rare Perfect Game We hadn't seen a perfect 300 (10-pin) game thrown in a long time as Kai Pedro was the last to do so in June of 2015. Franklin Lassley changed thatSaturday and if we heard him correctly, this was his 4th career sanctioned 300. Franklin wound up in 7th Place for the day! Great shooting! Check out the video of the 12th shot by Franklin (below)! Lassley goes for Perfect game Did we mentioned that scores were on the high side? When the dust settled, 33 bowlers wound up over 1000 for the day and there were even a few who showed up to bowl late and apparently lacked confidence in their game, opting to leave thinking that they didn't have a shot to win. That mentality can sometimes be contageous and really has no validity since 10 of the 24 Cashers came from that final squad! As we say...NEVER GIVE UP!
Before each of our three squads we had the opportunity to present some Champion shirts as well as a plaque to Cecil Abay-Abay who we had't seen since last year...here are some photos:

Congrats to Maria Fox for finishing 4th this week and was one of just four bowlers to break 1100 with 1102! Great shooting! Along with Maria, Willie Manning, Jr., broke a mini-slump by breaking 1100 with 1110 for 3rd Place, his third Top 3 this year along with$488.00. Brian Peters has been on fire! After a near miss last week, Brian shot a career best (by 91 pins) to shoot 1113 for 2nd Place and $976.00! Keep at it, Brian...you're close!!!
