Paradise Bowl
July 28th, 2018

Total Paid Out: $7,694.00

Wrap Up
With another great turnout at Paradise Bowl on Saturday there were 126 Entries with 25 bowlers reaching the Cash List as it was one of those days where any one of 10 to 12 bowlers had their chance at the title!  In fact, just 100 pins separated the top spot from the last cash position.  Going into the 3rd Squad we had six of the top seven spots occupied by original 2002-2003 Tour members (member #'s three-digits or less).  In that group were four Hall of Famersincluding Willie Downing, Earl Kleist, Bob Rouse & Samson Ibale. Tong Nguyen joined the party late in the day, placing 17th.

Charles McDonald had a HUGE day as well as he started his day going for Gold playing ball down in Olympia in the Special Olympics where he and his team earned a Silver medal!  Charles didn't stop there as not only did he finish in 12th Place, he fired a 334 w/handicap game and we'd have to do some heavy digging to see where that ranks in all-time Tour history.  Safe to say that if it's not the highest, it's definitely one of the highest EVER!  Charles has other claim(s) to fame as he is an avid TV game show fan, in fact, a couple of years ago he was a big winner on Wheel Of Fortune and we dug up this photo of him from when he was on the show!

Great Job Charles!

Three bowlers, John Schelegle, Paul Mann & Thang Duc Thai nailed down $150.00 payouts from the 9-Tap Jackpot consolation for hitting the front 4 Taps as the Jackpot still managed to jump slightly to $8,045.00 as we head to Pacific Lanes next Saturday

Scores were not all that high, but six bowlers still managed to break 1000, including Samson Ibale doing so TWICE on his way to 2nd Place and $744.00.  Samson broke out of his recent slump as this was the best finish of 2018 for the Tour's 24-Time Champ!  Additionally, Ibale took another $330.00 from the Scratch Pot to pad his wallet.  Ed Berg continued his hot streak as he finished in 3rd Place besting his Career best 4th Place finish from just last week.  Berg's 1013 series was his 2nd best to date as he pocketed$410.00 and remarked he had just a couple of bad shots which likely cost him the win!  Linda Newman, who joined us back in January, posted her Career Top series as well as her best finish so far as she shot 1009, finishing 4th.  Downing's 1003 and Wes Puishis' 1000 rounded out the Top Six for the day.

John Moore III is the Tour's latest 1st-Time Champ and he didn't start out very well as in the 3rd Squad his 800 showed much room for improvment...John then reentered for the Final Squad and put it together as his Father, John Moore, Jr., apparently inspired him as he shot 1030 to take the Title which was highlighted by his 280 scratch game!  The Construction worker from Tacoma is fairly new to bowling and used his Hammer 'Black Widow' to get the job done.  John bowls in just one league over at Tower Lanes and said after not bowling so well earlier, "I felt like I was in the zone." which is a common quote from many of our past Champs.  John also said "I'd like to thank my lady, Monique, my baby Sister, Naomi, my Father as well as my Heavenly Father"  Moore III was vague on his plans for spending his $1,610.00 check but did say he will invest it in his future goals.  Finally, John said he wanted to thank the Tour staff and his Father for always practicing with him.  Awesome bowling, John!!!
