With 135 total entries this week, research took us back more than five years and 26 visits to find a better turnout atNarrows Plaza Bowl. Chuck Hufford was victorious that day (3/23/13) when we had 159 entries.  Interestingly, this week, five of the bowlers who made the Cash List that day, were on the list again this week including the winner, 4-Time Champ Cal Fisher!  We'll have more to say about Cal further down... 

Our last visit to Narrows in June, was also a 'Best 3 of 4' and we found it pretty cool to see that the scores then were nearly identical this week!  The winner in June, Brett Schaaf, posted an 840 with a 739 Cut-Line while this week, Fisher took the Top spot with 845 with 734 the Cut number. 

Four bowlers - Joyce Roberts,Mike Miller,Tong Nguyen & James Pippin tied for the most taps with the front 4 and instead of splitting $100 four ways, we threw in an extra $20 and paid them each $30.00. As unintentional as it is, we now find our latest Jackpot total at exactly$3,333.00. 

Seven bowlers broke 800 this week including Thang Duc Thai, Andy Snow & Chris Andreula.  Joining them and finding himself one spot out of the Top 3 was Shawn Saulsbury who would have finished in 24th Place, but opted to reenter late in the day, improving his finishing position significantly by shooting 808!  Charles McDonald won his first title just three weeks ago and continued his hot shooting.  After collecting his winner's shirt during our announcements after practice, Charles went out and fired an 818 to finish in 3rd Place, earning himself another $522.00.  What can we say about Willie Manning, Jr.?  When Willie walked in the door, he saw the score to beat and predicted to us that he was going to shoot 856...Well, he almost did it!  835 wound up to be his total as he came up just ten pins shy of another title, finishing 2nd for the second time this year to go with his three 3rd Place finishes in 2018.  Manning was going for his 5th Title and now has $22,093.00 in Career earnings! 

Some of us will recall that back in February, Cal Fisher won his third Tour Title to go with his one win on the 'Elite' Tour.  You may further recall that we discussed Cal's lucky dog tag that he  wears around his neck when he bowls. This comes from the legendary Tuskegee Airmen 'Red Tails' as Cal finds this extremely inspirational and said that this along with his lucky red shirt are keys to his success on the lanes!  Cal used his Storm 'Tropical Breeze' ball and said that he'll save much of his $2,081.00 in winnings for a trip to Baton Rouge over the Thanksgiving Holiday.  Cal said that "It's always a pleasure bowling with David (Kim) &John (Nissen) and, of course, Lynnie (Kim) for being the cheering squad."
