Wrap Up

The predicted 'Perfect Storm' materialized Saturday, with a GREAT competition (2-pin Victory), 'On-Target' scores and an absolute ASSAULT on the huge 9-Tap Jackpot.  Andy Snow started the assault, in the first game of the day, with the Front 5 Taps... Bill Jones did the same, missing on #6 and getting #7... but Andy wasn't done, he came back a few games later with the Front 6, giving him the dream 'Golden Shot' for the Jackpot (see video below).  There were another half dozen long strings of Taps throughout the day, capped off by Reuben Pedro's 7-Middle in the last squad.  Since the Front-6 & Middle-7 are both worth $750.00, they're treated as a 'tie' paying out to both Reuben & Andy, tapping the Jackpot for a nice $1,500.00.  Nice to spread the cash around a little... leaving the Pot still at a hefty $7,824.00

Andy Snow's 'GOLDEN SHOT' for the Jackpot!!  He got $750.00 for the Front 6!

Welcome to the 8 New Members Saturday, and a few former Members who returned.  A special shout-out to New Member Brent Poley, who joined us all the way from Langley, B.C.

The scoring 'Storm' also started right out of the 1st squad gate, with a recently 'VERY HOT' Thanh Ament (2nd last week) shooting 2 blistering games, including his highest ever game on the Tour (265).  His really nice 826 series ultimately hung on to 3rd Place, but was tied by Ashley Kochel in the last squad.  Ashley started by tossing a nice 752, which would have been enough to make the Cash List in 21st, but came back in the last squad with her All-Time High game (264), on the way to moving up to 3rd and her best payday of $402.00.  Another recently 'Hot' bowler, Earl Kleistshot very well in the first squad with a strong 838 and it looked like he was well on the way to his 12th Career Title.  Earl was caught by a mere 2-pins in the last game of the day, but thanks to the BIG Progressive Pot, his 2nd Place share was a hefty $1,085.00.  That check boosts Earl's Career Prize Money to $59,395.00... very close to becoming the Tour's 2nd $60K earner.

Brett Schaaf had been frustrated with his bowling lately, having been in aslump since March, as evidenced by his 4 Bonus pins.  He told his wife Heather that they should take a few weeks off... good thing that Heather said, "We're going bowling"!  Brett's slump appeared to be continuing when he started out with a 128 game.  Instead, he bounced back with two good games, then topped off his series with his Personal Best game 261, which was just enough to edge Earl by TWO PINS.  After collecting his healthy bounty of $2,463.00, Brett's quote of the day was, "I guess the message is, do what your wife says" (Wise Man!).  Brett and Heather live over in Belfair and bowl league at Hi Joy Bowl in Port Orchard (be there in July).  He used his DV8, drilled by Curtis Messer (All-Star, Silverdale) for the Win.  Brett's support staff includes Heather and father-in-law Mike Miller, who all usually bowl together.  Brett becomes the 10th 1st-Time Champion already this year.  Way-To-Go Brett, congrats on Win #1!!!
SCHEDULE CHANGE - JUNE 16th: Please make a note on your schedule, the Doubles Tourney - Dad's Day weekend, has been moved to Pacific Lanes.
