Wrap Up

Saturday started off with a bit of a surprise for us as when we checked our oil pattern before our 12:00 squad, we noticed that it wasn't exactly as we had planned due to minor mechanical issue with the oil machine. Truth be told, there was no way to fix the problem and although the pattern was slightly different, we felt it was very fair and would likely yield higher than average scores.  The end result was 14 bowlers breaking 800 with a higher than average Cut-Line at 756.  How's this for DIVERSITY?  Twelvebowlers on the Cash List would be considered as having higher averages while another eight were somewhere in the middle with the remaining ninein the lower average category. In all we had 140 entries and 29 bowlers making that diverse Cash List with an extra Cash spot due to a tie in the last spot!

George Gardner wound up with the 9-Tap Jackpot consolation as he hit the front 4 taps for $100.00.  The Jackpot now sits at $8,117.00 as we head to Roxbury Lanes in West Seattle next week.  The jump over the $8k mark means 50% increases in Jackpot payouts!  We'll have more details on that in this coming Wednesday's newsletter.  Also, the Pro Pot made a nice jump and is $2,379.00 for Roxbury!

How about the husband/wife combo of Donnie & Joyce Roberts?  They bowled in separate squads this week but managed to finish in 9th & 14th as BOTH of them broke 800 with 810 & 801 respectively... Great shooting you two!

Also over 800 in 4th thru 12th Place were Brett Schaaf, Sam Em, Toan Vu, Magic Bristol, Dan Elliott, Nick DeLeon, Ajay Jarata, Brian Peters & Ashly Kochel.  Any one of these bowlers will probably tell you that they left a shot or two out there which might have moved them well up the Cash List or even to the Top Spot!  Wonderful bowling everyone!

Mitch Johns, Sr. has shown steady improvement since joining us last August as this was his second 3rd Place finish in recent weeks.  Mitch tossed games of 254, 277 & 247 (scratch) to finish 3rd and earned $480.00

Daniel Denning first joined us back in 2011, mostly bowling in '15 & '16, he's been out of the game for the last couple of years...We joked with him that being away might have helped him forget his bad habits as he fired off TWO 300 games, shooting 865 (scratch) earning 2nd Place and $710.00 upon his return to the Tour!  Welcome back Daniel!

Finally, we get to our Champ, Lisa Seifert!  Lisa was our 2017 Rookie ofthe Year and just a short 13 months ago, she picked up a COOL $2,809.00 at Skyway Park Bowl when she hit the 9-Tap Jackpot.  She wasn't finished there as she went on to win her first title at Paradise Bowl in our annual Vet's Day Tourney last November.  This week, she got lined up for sure as she bowled in the 2:30 squad where she shot a (not too shabby) 825 series which would have been good enough for 7th Place. However, apparently feeling IN THE ZONE, Lisa reentered, threw her first Tour 300 game on her way to a HUGE 892 series, edging out Denning by 13 pins!  Using her Track 716T ball (same one she used to win back in November), Lisa referred to her performance as luck, stating that "Reentering paid off BIG TIME!"  We agree that it paid off, Lisa because you earned a sweeeet $2,050.00 while gaining your 2nd Title!  Lisa says she and her husband, Greg share a car and "take turns walking & driving to/from work."  This win gives them the ooportunity they've been waiting for to buy a new car!  Congrats!
