Bowlero Lanes
Feb. 3rd, 2018

Total Paid Out: $7,024.00

Wrap Up

After starting out the day with 55 bowlers (combined) for the first two squads, the final squad all but equaled that number as with 54 more entries we totaled 109 entries for the day.  This was our first trip to Bowlero Lanesin 2018 and after having four straight 1st time winners at this venue, John Medeiros suffered a late and VERY untimely split coming up just SIX pins shy of making it FIVE!  More on John further down...
Samson Ibale  and Dan Watts were the only ones to muster a run on 9-taps as both hit the front 4 earning $100.00 each.  The Jackpot is now setting its sights on the $7k mark for the first time in quite awhile as it jumped to$6,877.00 for next week at Narrows Plaza Bowl

First squad leader, Paul Mann made the trip back over the Narrows Bridge with some confidence after shooting 1011, then Bob Rouse edged him out with a 2nd squad 1020 set.  Sitting 1 & 2 after two, Rouse & Mann were looking good with the light turnout...That's when the line at check in seemed to go on and on for the 5pm squad. With lane conditions breaking down, many times the shot tends to get tougher, but when the dust settled, that final squad yielded 14 of our 22 Cashers for the day, including our Winner. Rouse wound up finishing 4th with Mann in 5th.

After a very successful trip to Las Vegas last weekend where he finished T9th, Sam Em continued his hot bowling, joining Rouse & Mann by topping 1000 with a 1002, good for 6th Place.  Willie Manning, Jr along with the aforementioned John Medeiros finished in a tie for 2nd Place and with only six pins separating them from the Top spot, both bowlers later commented that they had their opportunities to get it done.  As we mentioned this would've been Title #1 for Medeiros, while Manning, Jr was looking for Title #5.  Each earned $624.00 and Willie added another $115from the scratch pot for his 985 scratch series.

Dan Watts recently told me (Steve) that he was taking a break from bowling 9-Tap as he had been in an extended slump.  In the spirit of fact checking, we did some checking and really it had only been FOUR tournaments since he last cashed...Now for Dan, being a perfectionist might be his biggest obstacle as it has been just over two years since he earned his first Title and further checking shows that he has one of the best Cash ratios on the Tour.  With that, we congratulate the Retired Army Vet for shooting an awesome 1035 series to earn that elusive 2nd Title!  Watts used his Hammer 'Diesel' ball that he had drilled by John over at JBLM and wore his Dexter 'SST8' shoes on his way to a$1,825.00 pay day! Dan bowls in FOUR different leagues, so it doesn't surprise anyone when he says that he'll use part of his winnings to buy another ball and will take his family on a bowling outing soon to celebrate the win.  Dan wanted to thank everyone that was on his pair, especially Willie Manning, Jr for being "So Great!"  Adding "I felt focused, been working on aiming points and hand position and I was a little amped! Everyone on my pair kept pushing each other to succeed."
