![]() WOW... the combination of several unusual circumstances created a one-of-kind day at West Seattle Bowl. Unusual #1 - A brand new oil machine left us in-the-dark as to how the same oil pattern we've used at WSB for a while would play. The result was lower scores all day, except for one Member who found the secret. After some minor shot adjustments next time, we think the new oil machine will be an awesome addition for WSB. Unusual #2 - As many as a dozen of our regular bowlers were participating in a several different Las Vegas Tournaments this weekend (including our LV 9-Tap Tour). We know that Earl Kleist added to his #2 All-Time Career Tour Earnings with a 7th Place finish in LV & Cecil Abay-Abay got a piece of the LV Jackpot Consolation. Unusual#3 - Nasty weather certainly didn't help the low turnout on Saturday, so we THANK all the hearty Members who made the effort to attend. As a perfect end to the unusual day, Steve, Margie & I, were luckily just seconds behind a multi car accident on the I-5 on ramp, on the way home. Steve was just 2 cars back of the accident and we were right behind him.
As we mentioned, the scoring was on the low side, but that helped to create a very tight competition. Only Jamie Nazario's 2nd squad 1012 series cracked the 1000 mark, until the last squad. That score held on for 2nd Place and Jamie's best ever career finish, along with a nice $727.00 payday. Our 3rd Place finisher, James Black is also our 2016 Bowler of the Year leader. He extended his lead over his nearest pursuer (Samson), who was bowling in Las Vegas this weekend. James pockets a healthy $363.00 along with some valuable B.O.Y.points, for his nice 993 series, that included two huge games which also earned him $200 in Scratch Pot money. Oz Green & Tour newcomer Kyle Murphyshared the $100.00 in Jackpot Consolation money for their 4 Taps. Popular Tour regular Willie Manning Jr won his THIRD career Tour TitleSaturday, on a re-entry that he wasn't planning to do. After struggling in his |
