Secoma Lanes - Federal Way, WA
November 21st, 2015

Total Paid Out: $7,840.00

Wrap Up
After a nearly 6-month hiatus since our last visit, the Tour returned to Secoma Lanes on Saturday and the final results could not have been closer as the Top THREE Spots were separated by only FOUR pins and just ONE pin separated the Top TWO!!!

For a change from recent weeks the weather outside, albeit cold, was not a factor at all as there were 117 entries with 23 bowlers making their way to the Cash List.  A HUGE thank you to Mike and his staff at Secoma for their hospitality and a special shout to Brian for providing us with lane conditions that produced us with perfect and/or ideal scoring.  After the dust settled, just three bowlers had topped the 1000 mark as we had a nice, right on target 'Cut-Line' of 925 and a diverse Cash List ranging from -4 to +50 handicap.

As the day progressed into the Final Squad, it seemed that the Jackpot was not to going to be threatened as SEVEN bowlers were in line for the consolation, all having hit the front 3 taps...But Wait! Earl Kleiststepped up, adding himself to the list by hitting the front 3 to make it EIGHT bowlers...Unfortunately, for the other SEVEN, Earl decided to get two more, knocking them all off the list and taking the consolation of $250.00 for himself.  As the Puget Sound Version of The Tour takes a week off and heads to Las Vegas for our Thanksgiving 'Satellite' Tournament, The 9-Tap Jackpot goes back to the Bank with a $7,246.00 total.  The Tour will return to Roxbury Bowl in two weeks with the 'Best 3 of 4' format and a healthy Progressive Pot of just under $2,000.00.

                      Champ                   2nd Place                  3rd Place
Vyron Kuver             James Strand           Bronson Etse

Vyron Kuver is this week's Champion as he fired the Tournament Best 1033 early in the day and 'BARELY' held on...The good thing about the word 'BARELY' is that it was enough for Vyron to take home his 1st Career Title!  Kuver joined The Tour back in 2011 and as many of you will recall, bowled alongside his brother, the late, GREAT, Ron Kuver.  After the win, Vyron said "I believe I may have had some help from above" referring to Ron who passed away back in July of 2014.  What many may not know about the retired (38 years) Boeing worker, is that in addition to being a 'Seating Host' every year for the Seattle Mariners, he is also an award winning wood worker and as you can see by this photo, his talents are not  limited to bowling.  Kuver bowls in several Leagues at Secoma and used his RotoGrip'Asylum' ball that was drilled by Robert Kelly from Secoma's 'Peter Somoff Pro Shop'.  Vyron said that the $2,000.00 check from Saturday's win will go towards Christmas presents for his family as well as upgrades for his woodshop.  Congrats, Vyron!

James Strand might have lost some sleep last night and may even lose more in the coming days.  All because of an errant 10th frame shot that left him one pin short of his 4th Career Title!  Shake it off, James!  The 3-Time Champion is headed to Las Vegas next week and said that the $899.00 2nd Place check will help a lot!  James' 4 1/2 year Career earnings total is now $18,227.00 as he edges ever closer to the $20,000.00 Club.

Coming off of a semi-slump and just four lousy pins off the pace was Bronson Etse, who finished in 3rd Place.  Bronson has one previous Tour Title in his 15 months on the Tour and pockets a cool $480.00 for his 3rd Place finish.  Great to see you bowling well again, Bronson!

Many of our bowlers might have noticed 2 or 3 new faces yesterday as our new Las Vegas franchise owner, David Page along with Cathy Beasley were on hand to get some 'Good, Ole' Fashioned' training as they prepare to open up down in Las Vegas.  We also added a Floor Director to the crew this week as Steve Bowyer joined the Tour's group of 'Orange Shirters'.
