Wrap Up
HUGE scores came from every squad Saturday, from a 1072 in the 1st squad, to an 1129 in the last.  We had plenty of positive feedback from our bowlers, regarding the 'Long-Oil' pattern.  The Cut-Line was even 30 pins higher than usual.  Mick Thrush had a shot at every bowlers 'Dream', when he had a chance in the 10th frame, for his FIRST natural 300 Game.  He was surprised to learn that USBC does Sanction the Natural 300 games shot on the Tour (SIX Sanctioned 300's have been shot on Tour).  A tie for the last spot caused us to pay an extra (29th) spot on the CashList.  Pen Hagen nearly took down the 9-Tap Jackpot, which would have been the 3rd time in 5 Tournaments, when she strung the front 6-Taps in the last squad.  The$500.00 she earned, pushed the 2013 Jackpot's AMAZING payouts to over$15,000.00.  After the first 14 Tournaments of 2013, our Total Paid-Out is also on a RECORD pace, with an impressive$144,894.00 in payouts so far.  Next week we will begin our FOUR squad summer schedule, adding the 6:30 squad and a re-oil in the middle, which will give our Members who work on Saturday, the chance to shoot in the late squad.

The SURVIVOR of "The Shootout at the Secoma Corral" was 'Sheriff' Chris Pierce.  The guns and the scores were blazing all day on the 'Long-Oil' pattern.  Chris previously won TWO Titles back in 2010, but this week he SHATTERED his All-Time Bestseries by 56 pins!  We don't get many series that top 1100 (five in 2 years), nor do we ever see a fantastic 1096 series, finish 2nd.  Chris finished off all his opponents in style by throwing a 300 in his final game, for a 33 pin margin of victory.  After shooting a 919 in the 2:30 squad, he felt that he had a good enough line to try again... besides, wife Heidi was out of town, so he figured "What the heck".  Saturday's sweet $2,237.00 payday earned Chris a spot in the $10,000 CLUB, with his career winnings jumping to$10,152.00.  He said that he'd use his bounty to take Heidi to dinner, when she got back, and to pay some bills.  The weapon Chris used for this shootout was his Storm 'Sync', drilled by Pat Johns at HiLine Bowl, where he also bowls in two leagues.  Chris also asked us to Thank Bob Berryman (last Tournament's Champ), who bowled with him and encouraged him throughout this street fight.  CONGRATS Chris on Win #3!!

Eddie Harper made the trip up from Elma a productive one.  His really nice 1096 series would have been a winner 98% of the time.  $10 in the Pro. Pot limited his earnings to $747.00, but it was his biggest payday yet, so he was more than excited by the check!  Randy Kanzig got back on track in a big way, holding the early lead with his 1072.  He also topped his Best Ever series by 67 pins, earning a healthy $538.00 for 3rd.  Anything over 1040 would win most Tournaments, but not this week... John Nissen1071, Bill Smith 1053 & Tong Nguyen 1043, all shot well enough to Win Saturday!
