We had a wild day, with very tight competition at Skyway, until one bowler got REALLY HOT!  We also had the 'Assault' on the 9-Tap Jackpot that we expected, which continued throughout the day.  Mike Swift had 5-Taps early in the day and then Dorrie (Jackpot Queen)Quirante started a game with EIGHT out of NINE Taps, marred only by one 8-count right in the middle of her string.  Then, in the 3rd squad,Tong Nguyen finished a game with SEVEN in-a-row, to run away with a $1,000.00 Consolation from the Jackpot.  That pushes the total paid from the Jackpot this year to a monstrous $16,175.00.  The Pot remains high though, with $9,409.00 available for next week at Bowlero.  The scoring at Skyway was very moderate all day, with solid scores coming from every squad, but no really BIG scores... until our Champion BLEW past the rest of the field by a BUNCH!  The Cut-Score of 715 was actually a little higher than our last '3 of 4' Tournament at Bowlero (711) and 23 pins higher than the last one at Skyway. 

The day's big 'BOMBSHELL' was the announced closing of Bowlero Lanes.  The final closing date has not yet been announced, so next week's '$1,000.00 Added' Tournament, may be our last visit to a Center with a lot of Tour History.  Wouldn't it be poetic, if the Jackpot got hit there... one last time!?

Osmond Green continued his recent HOT STREAK, running away with the Title by a HUGE 50 pin margin.  He becomes the first Member this year to win twice, after winning his 1st Career Title last month at HiLine. Osmond has been working to improve his bowling, and it shows.  Over the last few months, he's improved so much that he's lost 9 pins of handicap (20 pins since joining).  He would have won this one even if he'd lost another 15 pins a game!  Which again confirms that it's not how many pins you have... it's "When you get Hot you Win"!  Osmond, and good friendJoyce Law, work together for the Seattle Police Dept. in Tech Support.  They often bowl together, as they did in the 1st Squad when Joyce shot a 795 to take the lead.  That lead held up while Osmond took another shot at it in the 2nd Squad and then again in the 3rd Squad.  The 3rd time was a charm, despite a bad 1st game, he put together three BIG games to run away with it.  Joyce's quote, with a vengeful look in her eye, was "You'll never live this down"!  After the Tournament, she called Security to arrest him for "Mugging" her (see picture).  Then he tried to buy his way out of it by offering to buy her a new Bowling Ball.  Joyce accepted and everybody lived happily ever after.  His win was worth a healthy $2,403.00, which he said would go toward a family vacation and a new bowling ball (two!).  Pat Johns, at HiLine, drilled his Roto Grip "Cell" that he used for the win.  CONGRATS Osmond on Win #2!

Joyce Law held on for 2nd Place and a nice $1,071.00.  She was looking for her 1st career title before the alleged "Mugging".  Joyce promised to post the picture of Osmond being busted, on the Police Dept bulletin board!  Mike Swift & Steve Bowyer, both also looking for their 1st Titles, tied for 3rd Place with 777's.  They shared the 3rd & 4th place money, each taking home $405.00 for their efforts.
