A nice turnout at Roxbury Lanes provided multiple 'Instant Replays' of our last visit.  The scoring was again a little on the high side, this time we had TEN bowlers topping 1000.  Again, the 9-Tap Jackpot faced assault after assault.  For the 2nd Roxbury visit in-a-row, we paid out a $1,000.00Consolation for 7-Taps in the middle of the game.  Ganny Angeles pulledoff the 'Middle 7' feat this time, and at the same time posted a huge 1074 to take the lead after the 3rd squad.  Ganny was nervous about his lead, because in March at Roxbury he also had the lead going into the last squad, only to be caught in a 'down to the wire' finish.  Another 'instant replay' saw Ganny getting caught again in a tight finish that came down to the very last frame.  All this action leads up to what should be a wide open 'Best 3 of 4" next week at the always popular Bowlero Lanes.

 

Our Roxbury Champion, thanks to a CLUTCH finish, is Alfredo Oriza.  Alfredo needed a BIG finish to narrowly pull this one out, finishing with a string of 7 strikes (5th to 11th frames), to win by just 7 pins.  This is Alfredo's first win since 2009, pushing his career total to 3 wins and moving him into the exclusive company of the$10,000.00 Club.  His career earnings reached$10,327.00, not including the $2,074.00 he earned by hitting the 9-Tap Jackpot last year.  This was easily Alfredo's personal best career four game set, beating his previous best by a whopping 25 pins.  Alfredo is a very enthusiastic and devoted Tour bowler. His always present smile making him quite popular among the other Members.  The HiLine bowler used his HAMMER 'Plague' drilled by Ron Hoppe & Jeff Miller for his record performance.  Alfredo's wife Marielyn often bowls with him on the Tour.  He plans to use his $2,310.00 in winnings to pay bills and help with the kids tuition.  Alfredo asked us to thank his friends Eric Pham and Rich & Dawn Eaton for supporting and encouraging him.  CONGRATS Alfredo on win #3!

 

Ganny Angeles had a very profitable Tournament taking $1,024.00 for 2nd and $1,000.00 for his Taps.  But, after coming SO CLOSE twice in 3 months, he said that he really wants that Championship Shirt.  In 3rd Place, just coming back from a nagging illness, Steve Bowyer used his freshly drilled HAMMER 'Taboo', to shoot his Personal Best 1049, worth a nice $552.00.
