Tournament Wrap Up
A GREAT weekend at Paradise, was highlighted by some huge scores, despite conditions that were still a little challenging.  Surprisingly, every level of bowler managed to solve the riddle of the lanes.  Of the 39 bowlers in the Finals, 12 had handicaps less than 10 pins, and 14(including the Champion) had handicaps 22 pins or more.  The remaining13 were all mid range hdcps between 10-21 pins.  There was no apparent advantage to one group over another.  The Ladies did quite well this weekend, both Veterans and first year Members!  In addition to our Veteran Champion (below), Mai-Lee Bowyer (1st yr) turned in Sunday's high qualifying score.  Judy Buchanan (1st yr) and Lola Eberle(Membership #7), along with Rich Eaton, each tookhome $375.00 from the 9-Tap Jackpot for their 5-Taps.  Thanks to a tie on Saturday, we paid one extra (39th) place, yet the Low to Cash this week was still a nice $100.  Mick Thrush continued his very profitable Hot Streak!  After collecting his bounty of $1,300.00from the Dad's Day Pot & Jackpot Consolation in our last Tournament, he immediately went out and posted the Top Qualifying score of the weekend (1083) in Saturday's first squad, to earn the HAMMER 'Taboo'and the Top Qualifier Jacket.  BIG THANKS to Farrelli's Pizza, Miller-Lite Beer & Hammer Balls for sponsoring this event!

Returning to the Winner's Circle, after a five and a half year absence, is Champion Sue Packman.  Sue joined the Tour in 2002 and although this is only her 2nd Career title, she has done very well over the years.  Her$2,623.00 earnings this weekend have pushed her Career Earnings past$12,000.00 (not including Pots or Brackets).  Sue said the extra cash willcome in handy, since she's currently remodeling her condo and she's hoping to retire very soon.  Sue's history with the Tour goes way beyond just bowling.  In 2002, at a 9-Tap Tour Tournament at Magic Lanes, she first met her partner Paul Padilla.  Both are Life Members on the Tour and often bowl together.  Sue has done very well in Tournaments locally and nationally, which is even more impressive when you learn that she only began bowling since she turned 50.  In June this year, after recovering from her 3rd foot surgery, Sue and Paul both made the Cash List at the National Open Tournament in Reno.  It was Paul (Bigfoot Bowling) who did the drilling on the Brunswick 'Twisted Fury' that Sue used for her win.  Sue asked us to thank Paul, Bill & Shannon Peterson, Alfredo Oriza and Eric Pham for cheering her on through the Final matches.  CONGRATS Sue on win #2!!

Another original Tour Member (Membership #8), took 2nd Place.  Cecil Abay-Abay was On-Fire Sunday shooting some BIG games on a re-entry, to qualify in the last squad.  Then tossing some HUGE games in the Finals, to cruise into the Championship match.  The $1,169.00 for 2nd, made for a nice payday.  In a tie for 3rd, Ken McAllister and Carl Nichols each took home $542.00.  Ken came close to his 1st Tour Title and Carl came close to being the 1st to win twice in 2011.
