Wrap Up
We had a fabulous day at Hi Joy Bowl Saturday, when the largest number of entries ever (147) showed up to test their skills.  Hi Joy rolled out the red carpet and hosted a nearly perfect Tournament in their very well air-conditioned facility.  Our previous visit there brought in a then record crowd of 127, which we shattered by 20 entries, including a SPECTACULAR EIGHTEEN New Members joining the Tour.  The days scores started off a little low, but by the end of the day we had an excellent range of scores.  The large Cash List paid 29 Places, with FOUR bowlers topping 1000 and a low-to-cash of just 882 taking 29th place.  The 9-Tap Jackpot started the day at $5,563.00 and definitely was ripe for the taking.  Tom Weber and Earl Kleist both came close to the Front-7 Taps, each hitting on of the needed 7.  Tom's attempt fell short in the 2nd frame, followed by straight Taps.  Earl started with the Front-5, only to get an 8-count in the 6th frame, followed by another 9-Tap.  Earl's amazing try gave him the high for the day and a nice $250.00 cash payday.  Next week for Bowlero-Acme the 9-Tap Jackpot has grown to an even nicer $5,876.00.

SMASHING his Personal Best series by 72 pins, Joseph Frank III becomes the 12th Member to earn his first Tour Championship this year.  He has been a regular on the Tour since joining 14 months ago and if you want to see an excited Champ, check out his picture!  Joseph used his Radical Double Cross, drilled by Ira Holman at Paradise Lanes to pull out his big Win.  Joseph lead off with a 188 first game, then just got both HOT and very consistent after that, firing three solid games and finishing with a fantastic 1075 series.  Following advice to slow his approach, Joseph said he finally was able just 'relax' and not press, while staying more focused.  He enjoyed the company he had on the lanes and wanted to thank all his bowling partners for cheering him on.  He said that his winnings of $2.102.00 should be enough to get him a new ball or two.

Coming off a 4th place finish last week, Bryce Bridgman continued his recent Hot Streak, finishing in 2nd Place with a super 1056 series.  This makes his third cash since joining the Tour in April and he also tossed his Personal Best series.  Seems like Bryce is getting into the groove lately and might be a force in the future.  He earned a hefty payday worth $941.00 this week, more than tripling his previous winnings.

Just falling short of his 4th TitleBrett Schaaf finished with a great 1050 series taking 3rd Place.  Earlier in the day Brett was tied for 1st Place, but thought the score was not good enough to hold up, so he re-entered to only post his Personal Best series making it a clean sweep of the Top 3 all shooting P.B.s.  His 3rd Place finish earned him a nice chunk of cash putting $490.00 in his pocket, pushing his Career Prize money to $12,312.00.
