Bowlero South Seattle
Oct. 8th, 2022

Total Paid Out: $8,478.00

Wrap Up
Returning to Bowlero-Acme brought slightly lower than normal scores, just as we predicted.  The resulting, very close competition, had the Top 3 spots separated by ONLY pins going into the 4th Squad.  As is usually the case in lower scoring Tourneys, the door was left wide open for someone to step-up and take over... and that's just what happened.  The turnout was well below what was expected, thanks to the AWESOME Mariners game, but watching it together with all the other bowlers made for a very memorable experience.  A total of 24 places on the Cash List, created by the 121 entries, produced just one bowler topping the 1000 series mark and a low-to-cash of just 896.  Marilyn Mateo set the pace with a 953 series after the first squad and the scoring only crept up from there most of the day.  The final spread from 2nd to 24th was only 81 pins... now that is some awesome tight competition.  The 9-Tap Jackpot started at a nice $8,061.00 and was ripe for the taking, especially with the 50% Bonus increase that started this week.  Taps were harder to come by than last week, as we ended with two bowlers hitting the Front-4 Taps.  Both Zac Clute and Tong Nguyen took advantage of the bigger payouts, taking home $150.00 each.  This leaves the 9-Tap Jackpot growing to a hefty $8,218.00 for next week.

The trend continues this year, with our SIXTEENTH 1st Time Champion of 2022.  Khalid McBride earned his 1st Title at Bowlero-Acme since joining the Tour in August.  Khalid is starting to make himself a force on the Tour, using his Storm Pitch Black, drilled by Robert Kelly at Secoma Lanes, he out distanced the field by 37 pins.  He started with an 834 series, but once he got dialed in, he really turned it up in the last squad firing his huge 1014, which would have been more than enough to Win if he had ZERO pins handicap.  Khalid said that he knew he had a chance to win, but he told himself he needed at least a 270 game to pull it out.  Taking his time and staying focused, Khalid was able to strike out for a 274 game giving him more than enough to win.  He would like to give a big shout-out to Anthony Hill, for support and for cheering him on.  His 1st Place finish earns him a nice check of $1,954.00 and an Automatic Invitation to the Year-End Championship.  What are his plans with his winnings?  Buying Mariners tickets for the play off.  This weekend more than doubles his career earnings.

Bowlero-Acme Champion - Khalid McBride

Looks like our 2nd place finisher is getting back into form after his long layoff.  Hall of Fame Member Samson Ibale's comeback continued, coming off Winning last month at Bowlero-Lakewood and held the lead after the second squad with his nice 977 series.  Looks like Samson is making a run back to his legendary status on the Tour.  His 2nd Place finish was worth $882.00, adding to his already leading Tour earnings of over $90,000.00.  Knowing Samson, he really wants to reach that $100,000.00 mark... maybe soon!!!

3rd Place goes to last years Bowler of the Year Zac Clute.  The two time Tour Champion is on a nice roll lately, just climbing back into the Top 10 on the B.O.Y. standings.  He managed to get close to his elusive third win.  Zac's strong 975 series earned him a nice check of $456.00, pushing his young Career Prize Money total to $15,158.00.
